Planyway is a team calendar and timeline inside Trello to visually manage schedule, workload and due dates across Trello boards. Planyway lets you coordinate your project plans, share schedules with your team, and have an overview of who's doing what and when. Planyway offers weekly, monthly, Gantt chart, timeline views, showing multiple boards in one place and Google Calendar 2-way syncronization.
Overall, I am satisfied with Planyway. There have been times, however, when the program is running slowly or the boards won't load.
Everyone can see all my updates and changes very quickly and the email notification is great for back up and reminders.
When Im assigned a new card, it doesn't automatically show up on my planyway calendar so I have to refresh by hitting "select all".
I wish there was an integrated trello version that had the same features as the chrome plugin version.
I love the fact that I can place my cards on trello like events on a calendar. Everything is right in front of me to see and organize. No more switching between apps and getting lost on the way.
I wish it would sync up to Google Calendar better for it to work best with Google Assistant. Like Hey Google what's my agenda for today. It will show up on Google Calendar but not with the assistant.
I don’t like that many features that I love about the chrome extension are not available in the power up. I must be on a desktop/laptop computer in order to access those features, for example, seeing the cards and the Planyway calendar in a split screen.
The web user interface seems slow, but this is probably just my laptop.
I can't customize the time of day that a card is due.
I like that I am able to sync up all of my boards onto one calendar in Trello. I deal with many different boards for all of the things we have going on and this helps bring them all together.
My use has been primarily trial and error. I know it it much more capable than what I use it for however, I wish there were more training resources available to fully utilize the program.
It's hard to drop tasks up or down in the same calendar date cell
Having to enable permissions *every* time I try to open Planyway except for a handful of times over 4-5 months.
I'd like options that automatically postpone overdue tasks to the current day. This way they would get automatically moved to my current list of tasks on my calendar. This would save the burden of manually having to move things if you were a little ambitious in your goals for a given day.
Ability to move projects around as timelines change
Nothing really. Would be nice if after I check Completed that it’d automatically move to my DONE Trello column
Some functions are only accessible with the Chrome add on.
Easy to read, clean interface and easy of updating
Would like an easier way to export the calendar
I only wish that there were - somehow - an easier way to use Planyway on a mobile device - a tablet or phone, because I often want to check and adjust things on the fly or while commuting to or from school. There is a mobile app, but the functionality is quite limited when compared to what I can do with a full browser. Also, I sometimes find myself confused about which month I am looking at in calendar view. It is not hard to figure out, of course, but it takes a little more attention than I am used to with other calendar apps.
I am still waiting for the mobile editions to show my iOS calendars.
I would not be using Trello without Planyway to supplement its features. It is excellent - the ability to structure a day with tasks (or simply organize a list of day by day tasks) has become an essential tool for my organization. Price is just right, as well, since it has to compete with the additional cost of Trello.
I think greater access directly to the card features would be very helpful - especially things like checklists. You get a pretty good interface for the card but it's not yet "the card" itself...which can be very helpful.
None that I would say are glaring, mostly UI negatives.
Easy of use, cost-effective, Trello integration
Minor quirks that you can easily navigate if you learn how to effectively manage the tool.
Sometimes the sync features are finicky, and there are little things like not being able to use all of the Trello keyboard shortcuts from Planyway, but I understand nothing is perfect.
It would be nice if it could more easily sync with other apps
I feel like it needs to have its own dashboard. Just let me login to Planyway to manage everything, and give me better control and functionality than Trello natively provides.
I like being able to see the status of projects in a calendar format that I can sync with my Trello cards and share in a google calendar.
If I share to a client partner I can’t see their “lane” unless I change the view. I like the lane view. It helps me with follow ups.
Due dates in calender form very helpful
calender can load slowly at times or not at all. Sometimes glitches and can not click on anything
The ability to see all my scheduled cards in various layouts, month, 3 days, etc.
I cannot seem to book time with my clients from the Planaway calendar functions meant to sync with Google. Let me know a workaround as this fault make me need to bridge back into Google Calendar or miss meetings.
The biggest struggle with this software is the inability to use it on my phone easily. It is definitely made to be used on a laptop or home computer more than on a cell phone.
It syncs with my google and outlook calendars so all of my tasks are in one place. The functionality within Trello to add tasks to my calendar is fantastic.
For outlook syncing it only syncs every 24 hours rather than automatically like it does with google. It would be nice to have more of an instantaneous update whenever changes are made.
I love the sync feature. This was the main reason I started using it and it has helped me be able to share calendars with my team. People I work with didn't want to download an entire system but this program allows me to manage my projects and calendars and I just have to share the calendar link once and they are in the loop. This simple task and the multiple boards on one calendar view was a nightmare before I started using this.
I haven't really come across anything I don't like yet. Still setting up my system since I need to use it a bit differently.
Haven't found too many issues so far. Most requested features are already there.
Not a Planyway issue, but troubleshooting Google Calendar settings made me learn a lot more about admin settings for my domain than I really wanted to learn, lol!
I don't like that my google calendar doesn't integrate with it fully. I can send planyway to google but can't send google to planyway.
I would love to be able to use Planyway to manage my time, projects and tasks/cards in one place, but I've found it complicated and doesn't seem to have the functionality - at least I can't figure our a way to make it work for me.
I don't like how using multiple labels on a card affects the color that appears in calendar view. To combat this, we've made all of our "secondary" labels that determine the card's production status black, since the black label never affects the color that appears on the calendar.
I love that it keeps me organized with all my projects and that it integrates with my Google calendar. That a big plus for us!
As with the initial use of any new program there was a slight learning curve. That’s it
Desktop browser version: I like how easy it is to create cards, drag and drop on to days, open up the cards, setup repeating tasks, very easy to use UX, like it's tie-in with Trello, overall very helpful tool that I use daily to organize at home and work tasks. Mobile: very easy and straightforward UX
Mobile: Maybe I just haven't delved into this feature if it exists, but not being able to view details about the trello card's comments/details is a bit of a bummer. Desktop: Nothing as of now, it's working exactly as I'd expect/want it to work for my organization needs.
Puts all of my projects on one calendar making it much easier to see what deadlines are coming up.
Can’t see much info when you click on the project, you have to open the actual project up in a different page to see descriptions.
I like that I manage all projects in one place. I can easily track deadlines and move cards by dragging and dropping them in new date if necessary.
I nothing negative to share about the software. I do wish there was a pricing option for a team of two. It goes from 1 to 10 and jumps significantly in price.
I like that I can sync Planyway to my Google Calendar. This is a really important integration for me as Google Products really own my life. I also like how detailed I can get with customizations for repetitions for events or tasks.
Sometimes my Google Calendar does not sync immediately with Planyway and I can get errors.
The syncing ability with gmail calendar accounts
syncing errors when you lose connection or having to reconnect multiple times
I love Planyway. It is easy to use and it allows me to coordinate the scheduling with others in the field and keep everyone up to date.
I don't dislike anything. It works like a charm.
I haven't figured out if there's a way to use Planyway on my phone
I love using the calendar to keep track of when all my projects are due. I also use it to segment out my days so that I don't fall behind or get overwhelmed with the number of projects I balance at one time. Planyway helps me make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
I wish that there was a way to link multiple calendar entries to one trello card. For example, if I need 4 working sessions to complete a task, I need to create 4 different cards, which is a bit tedious.
It is visually appealing. It seemed more or less the only one available
It seems underdeveloped. Interaction with multiple boards and two-way editing are clunky
I love that I can see everything in a calendar format in Trello while also linking to my gmail account
It was a little confusing syncing with gmail but I was able to get it done!
To edit a single card that was created by a recurring card, you have to select "Edit this card only." Sometimes this just feels a little redundant, and I wish it was easier in some way. It would even be better if I could use my arrow keys and press enter to select "this card only"
It’s 2-way syncing and how often it refreshes
It’s hard to tell. Can’t think of any!!
I wish there was an app! I know it syncs with my Google and outlook calendar, but an app would be so much better.
It added my Trello tasks to my Google Calendar and allowed me to see Google calendar in Trello.
The trello integration was cumbersome to set up properly so that it synced with Google calendar. I often forgot the calendar was there. For the limited functionality it offers, it's not worth $5 per month.
The ease of creating and scheduling tasks with the added filters
When there are bugs connecting to Trello
I love the start and end dates and 2 way calendar sync with icloud and google calendars. This is top notch! This is worth the monthly payments alone.
The user management, billing interface is very weak. I also don't like how you HAVE to use it with Chrome and an extension and how it doesn't work on mobile devices yet unless you use the planyway app which is limiting. I want all trello and planyway functionalities in the trello app, planyway app, all web browsers, etc.
A place where you can combine all of the boards so you don't have to go to each board to see what you have going on is amazing. I love the versatility, ease of use, and the simplicity of Planyway. The fact that is goes so well with Trello is definitely a plus. I think without the extension, it only comes up as a pop up, which is unhelpful, so the extension is the lifesaver. I tell people, if they buy anything using Trello, it's the Planyway calendar.
I do not like that Planyway is first a pop up without the extension. Also I would like to have a feature we could add assignment dates to tasks within a card. I do a lot of event planning, but some events simply don't need a whole board, they just need to live in one card. Each card has checklists, and I would have to drag the entire card without being able to see specifics about the task that actually needs to be done. Are mini tasks a thing? Is this a ridiculous notion?
Turned Trello into project management tool that can compete with the other existing industry standards but without all the configuration overhead and super easy to setup. Desktop browser plugin and mobile app does everything I need to quickly access my tasks and see my work schedule. It's also perfect for planning trips/vacations with others where you want to attach Trello cards as time blocks on the schedule on Google Calendar.
There's no browser plugin for Firefox for Opera.
Planyway's integration with Trello via a powerup was quick and easy. I really like being able to see my Trello activities and deadlines on my google calendar. While Trello has a power up to sync with Google, it requires a good bit of time to appear. Not so, with Planyway. It syncs live and that is very helpful. I also like the milestones feature to identify key moments and the Gantt Chart view.
While the iphone and ipad apps work well, I wish that there was a way to view a full week or month calendar on these devices like there is in the Trello app or the web browser.
What I love is the ability to sync with my calendar, enter times for appointments. It syncs seamlessly with my Trello cards and has made tax season much smoother.
At this time, I cannot think of any cons with the software.
I love being able to add Trello tiles to different boards with a calendar view all from the same platform. It has improved my ability to both plan future time and reflect on how I have actually spent my time.
Could not say that there is anything too bad! An improvement I would make could be making comments / adding checklists to cards from the planaway calendar view, but not critical.
