Visual drag-and-drop website builder for designing custom, professional websites without writing code.
It doesn't require coding knowledge. Websites built on Webflow don't rely on plugins and are insanely fast. Easy to tweak and make mobile responsive.
It takes times to understand the editor which could be made simpler. The number of pages you can work on with a free plan should be increased.
Unique way to design websites. You don't need to learn HTML or CSS, and everything can be done via the browser and the UI.
Many functions and features are limited just for the paid package. And you get some level of restrictions because you can't code/modify some details.
It is best software to visually manilulate PSS. You dont need to do coding for web designing in this and coding will be done automatically at back end. Also we dont need to purchase paid version, all features are available in free version.
Although coding will be done at back end but You should have Little knowledge of coding for best use of this software.
Webflow is much better than Wordpress in that it lets you to create advanced website features and interactions without needing to know how to code or procure and install various plugins.
The learning curve for Webflow is much higher than a Wordpress or Wix alternative. I really wish I was able to move items within containers uses a "dragging" function instead of the Adobe Illustrator-esque UI.
Needs a built-in content management system in order to be considered an all-in-one web publishing platform.
I like the UI, which is smilar to Ps, it faciltated me, when I started. There is also a free crash course - how to use it, which is extremely helpful. I can create the design and se it working, without waiting to be coded. Or I can create the entire design in the app! I recommend it.
In fact the user interface can be challenging in the beginning. Also sometimes the app is a bit slow. This is what I found untill now.
What I design in Webflow EASILY translates for programmers, and what I see someone else has built, I can breakdown and replicate in Webflow. I've never seen something that enables me as a designer more than Webflow. The fact that the code is usable by programmers is unimaginable for me with a software like this that operates the way a designer can use it.
Like everything, it has a learning curve, but if you invest a few hours into learning from someone else using the software the same way you want to, you'll have an easier time learning it. Webflow has their own resources, but I find that supplementing their onboarding and how-to material with something external can expedite your learning process. Then make sure you do a few practice projects to really get the hang of it.
If you start buying templates like I did becuase my code wasnt "clean", plus the monthly fee it starts to get expensive.
BIG learning curve, you will need to take their university program to learn the platform as it's pretty complex.
Webflow charged me for the total subscription which I am not aware of since I was trying to learn the platform/editor/designer and then I was going to start my website design business. I did not publish any website, I only tried to understand the system and try to get some help with it. When you need some help with technical stuff and ask for help their first response is ''please create a detailed post to the Community Forum — our entire staff fields submissions throughout the day!'' You have to follow the guidelines on our Statement of Support page when submitting an inquiry!! Afterwards, I did explain my situation that I wasn't aware what was going on, I am a victim of the technology and I'd like to believe that I ethically have a right to claim a refund under such an inconvenient situation. But the answer was "I can give you a one-time courtesy refund for the last 30 days of service." I would expect a more understanding approach from such a big industry leading web compony and offer me the full refund since I haven't published any website!
I've been using this program for about 3 months now. I know code and am a graphic designer looking to branch more into UI/UX. This program gives me a sense of being able to do that while learning more about that side of design. It's a very visual tool and so easy to understand and grasp. I love how easy you can build a website from the ground up in such a fast time!
In my time of use, I haven't found at cons to this program yet. The only problem I have sometimes is that while I am working the program is laggy and slows up. It usually resolves itself if I refresh the page or exit and go back into it.
We liked WebFlow for its ease in creating rich websites of high quality and nice interfaces. From the application we can do almost everything in relation to the creation and maintenance of our websites for customers.
Difficult to handle in certain aspects, when the administrative panel and the guided tour in the application are brief, ease of use is achieved in a long time. However, once you learned to chew on the panel, the rest is pure imagination and creation.
I have tried a few modern web design software and Webflow is absolutely the best. It follows the latest HTML5 and CSS3 guideline so the code is clean. It's so easy to set up Flexbox and it provides some basic common elements such as sliders, nav bars but still customizable. Web animation is also made so much easier. The best thing is the CMS. It's pretty much an alternative of Wordpress but so much more easier and flexible.
I love all the feature Webflow provided but the only thing I can't justify is the pricing for hosting. When another web hosting company provides the same service for a month and Webflow is dollar. It's hard to sell it to my clients.
Since i create websites for a living, i often need to go back to Wordpress because of certain limitations which i can solve in 2 minutes with the right plugin on Wordpress but most of the time i can do what need to do and won't rely on Wordpress.
Webflow really such a great help for freelancer like me who mostly working alone with no team to design and build a website for my clients. We can even prototyping the website without writing any code!
Since it is still new for me, it quite takes time for me to learn Webflow holistically to have a better understanding in order to get the best result.
If you're not a web designer, the design features are difficult to use, but I believe this is specific to a custom code site.
For novice/non technical users though some aspects of the UI can be confusing and a bit hidden. Users without a solid understanding of best web design practices will struggle to get the best out of the visual page builders.
This is a web-based client and not downloadable software, so that gets a bit annoying if I accidentally close a window. Tutorials on the website also need to be update to match the current version. I've done a few tutorials that totally did not match the version they're currently running.
The thing I like the least about Webflow is probably their learning curve, although it's fairly good, they can work on providing more resources and make it easier to learn how to use the platform while also teaching web development fundamentals
The only problem I've had was how difficult it was for me to hear about Webflow. I feel like I had only ever heard of SquareSpace, WordPress, Weebly, etc. and Webflow has been my favorite when it comes to website building.
In the development stages providing limited resourced themes for starters
Awesome UI. Feels like designing a website in Photoshop. Plenty of premium themes to get you started and save a good amount of work. Lots of flexibility in terms of customisation.
Setting up a non-WWW custom domain was a pain. It can be daunting at first trying to figure out how the software works.
In concept it's light years ahead of most of the graphical web design platforms on the web. It's one of the only ones that isn't a complete joke. The Editor is not perfect--has some really annoying blind spots-- but is for the most part very nicely put together.
Absolutely the buggiest software of any kind I have ever used. Look forward to every other thing you try to do not working as it's supposed to and then investing 10 times the amount of time trying to figure out what it's doing and finding a way to work around it. Some bugs are critical, e.g. losing edits and data. Customer support will take your bug reports but even if the developers could fix half of them, there are so many it's like a boat with a hundred holes in it.
I liked how easy and clean the website we were able to create out of it and quickly. Great for messing with ideas until a concept works.
I had accidentally deleted a box and it was difficult to get it to undo the action. I don’t know if it was me or a bug but it took some time.
Webflow finally enabled me to develop my own web design from scratch. The result was a fully functional, responsive website that received a lot of praise
I found the learning curve to be very steep, the editor to maintain constant has pretty limited functionality and I'd like a lot more control over code optimisation to increase Web performance and make the website greener. Also, an option for full green hosting should be provided....
Creating webpages is incredibly easy in Webflow. It can be done without any technical expertise. On top of that, the pages can be incredibly complex and beautiful with the features of Webflow.
Editing mobile web pages is certainly possible, but it can be very tedious. I wish designs transalted more to mobile out of the box.
for me price seems little bit higher than should be.
I like how you don't have to have a coding background in order to use Webflow. Webflow also provides a plethora of tutorials for everything you could image to help you build the perfect website.
It's takes a little while to learn if you have no design background but despite this it is still very easy to learn.
You can build really, really good websites with this software without touching code. It only eliminates the technical hurdle, of course -- Ideally, you are a designer yourself or are hiring one to use this tool. I think this is almost certainly the best WYSIWYG web builder that has ever been created.
The CMS is proprietary and will stop working if you stop paying them. You can export your code, but it doesn't come with the functioning CMS and you will lose all the dynamic aspects of your website in this process.
The thing that i most like in webflow is his really easy feature to create and design animations and interactions, its really good
The worst part of webflow is his learning curve, i take a long time to lear how use and manipulate it, but after this, its really easy. Other bad thing in webflow is the you get stuck to his host
It makes design and development so easy and quick! Intuitive interface makes this a tool that empowers my capabilities as a designer. I use it for all my design projects.
Some bugs in the websites but can hack around them easy enough.
As an experienced graphic designer and a novice web designer I've found the visual interface of Webflow to be extremely helpful. I can see the changes in my design as I make adjustments and this has been huge in gaining a better understanding of web design. I've also found that I can design a site in at least half the time as compared to working in Dreamweaver.
During very few select times I was not able to edit text fields for my site. I think this was due to updates, but it was frustrating none the less. This bug has not happened for 3 months or so and was short lived otherwise. I sometimes feel like it's easy to accumulate CSS styles because Webflow creates default styles as you add elements to the canvas. The styles panel does contain a handy clean up tool, which helps with this issue, but I'm still losing track of styles from time-to-time.
For someone with very little web design experience, it has great free tutorials! You can explore and play with the web-based program before investing too much money into a monthly subscription.
They make it very hard to use your own host space to make the website life and you have to buy the expensive package to get rid of their branding at the bottom of the website. At that point, I would invest time on lynda.com learning Dreamweaver and coding.
This is so awesome! Such a great platform for web designers.
The ecommerce part of it still needs a little work done.
I think Webflow is off to a good start but they still have a long ways to go. Not as good as Wordpress or coding yourself.
The ease of use is exceptional. Having done limited work on a website in the past, I pulled up and completed the online training (a 1 hr 55 min video), and within a week, I have feel like a skilled website developer. Additionally, there are short youtube videos that are very helpful with common skill enhancers and the price is right.
The software is somewhat limited in advanced features and plug-ins for eCommerce have to be added on. If you have difficulties with computer programs in general, you might find it challenging to use at first.
Webflow is basically photoshop in steroids to put it in a way. The tool is easy to use and only demands little to none web development basic knowledge, the biggest plus is that the code produced by the tool is clean and not full of clutter as other similar tools.
Not much. The only thing is that since is a fairly new tool, some of the functionality you might be looking for or that can only be achieved by custom development might not be available.
Brings a new world of possibilities to our agency - gives designers with UI knowledge the power to build quickly and easily from their designs. Super powerful tool, looks good, works great. Decent value for the options it gives us. Very responsive customer support too.
Nothing that has cropped up yet - we are a couple of months into usage, so possible we will see something, but so far so good.
Webflow has a learning curve that takes up to a week. Pricing, although not high, may be prohibitive for some teams
The tool takes time to understand on initial stage. Pre made templates can be made for effective. Webflow is little pricy for themes.
There are a few current limitations like no built-in pagination that have slowed down my development and I've had to implement clunky work-arounds, but the pros completely outweigh the cons.
The Webflow hosting service is ridiculously expensive compared to most other good hosting services (even accounting for the CDN provision) and the system will only allow you to export code for static sites, meaning if you want to use the powerful CMS (the best part of the entire offering) you are bound to Webflow’s hosting. Deal breaker for me.
webflow is great for experienced designers. It has also integrated e-commerce functionality and it allows to migrate websites.
well If you are a beginner then you can have pretty hard time. It is very expensive for basic website needs. It also has a very limited number of templates.
It's super powerful.
It's pretty pricey.
Flexibility - Once we switched over to webflow, I was able to ship new content pages in just a couple hours and make changes on my own without bothering engineering. Running marketing experiments with a small engineering team became so much easier.
Ease of use - It can be a bit challenging to get over the learning curve, but I love that it's much closer to actual development than something like Squarespace.
Very easy to get started with great templates, quite intuitive UI, you can produce professional websites in minutes, adapts itself very neatly to the user
the design of the side-bar maybe could be a little bit more clean (bigger buttons, less icons and more descriptions (for beginners)
