I used this first in college level studying and writing papers. The ability to hide/show levels and sub-levels with a single click made self-testing very effective. After graduation I used Inspriation throughout my career for brainstorming ideas with a group using a projector and for writing reports. I've looked at other programs but this one has the broadest range of features.

You can create your outline in either the graphic mind map format or as a text outline and switch between them at will. In either layout you can open text fields to at notes or write paragraphs. You can easily move headings, with attached text, around to reorder ideas. And a unique feature is the ability to export the text fields to a word processing program with or without the headings and with or without the graphic mind map. That is, you can build an outline, write in various sections, rearrange for clarity, and then export to a final report or paper. Very easy to use and very powerful. Windows or Mac.

Their main customers have been public schools so the included graphics are more suited for that audience but there is a core set that is appropriate for business or college work.
