I only have to set it once and not worry about it later. It syncs up all my files without fail. I also have the option to exclude folders.

Nothing much to hate about the software other than the fact hat I have to pay for it.

Very good for limited use situations

Ease of licensing. Performance. it really works great, and if I were not concerned about some of the dangerous caveats, I would switch our organization from Dropbox.

The fact that there is no read only mode that prevents people from deleting files globally is a deal-breaker. Also, the fact that someone can come back online and their time stamp being different can cause an overwrite of newer files, is the other deal-breaker. We can only use it very selectively because of these too big risks. If and when these issues become resolvedd, we would expand our usage significantly

It has been excellent. We haven't had any issues and we share large media files with eachother 3 times a week for podcasts. It also has a significant amount of storage room.

Our team uses this software to share bigger audio files with eachother. It is similar to dropbox in the sense that it is like a shared folder for large files.

We have not had any problems with the software over the last 10 months. It is very easy to drag and drop media content and it can be shared amongst multiple computers. It may take a little time to load the content, but other than that a great product!

As mentioned in the cons section, getting our brain wrapped around how to deploy the solution and address the implications of maintaining files has been our only real challenge. We've had some problems with firewalls in remote locations not allowing us to connect a workstation into the Resilio peer-to-peer network, but this is not the fault of the software but the challenges of dealing with end-user supported remote networks (who do not understand the significance of their choices of firewall settings nor their ability to accommodate our use case).

Ability to share files among workstations without worrying about data being placed in the hands of a third party

When more than 2 workstations are involved, the implications of file management between all of these machines can be a significant issue. Resilio provides a great solution, but managing the consequences of using this solution AND having a local file server needs better use case examples to think through how best to deploy the solution.

Overall, I'm happy with Resilio, we're a non-profit and it works great to keep files synced between workstations and servers and between our onsite and offsite file servers.

Once this software is running, it works great with little intervention. Features are strong and we're able to control where data is syncing pretty easily.

There isn't a lot of easy to read diagnostic information. I ended up finding log files and reading through them to know what was going on, without a good read out inside the application.

In use with our Netgear ReadyNAS, it allows a pretty seamless way for our clients to back up to us from their business!

On the ReadyNAS, user permission/administration and configuration interface could use a little more tweaking to make it more simplistic for each client.

Reslio works well for collaborating with off-site employees.

The sync works really well once the firewall is properly configured.

On a NAS (QNAP), it's very hard to troubleshoot if files aren't syncing properly.

We appreciate Sync for the fact that we can share files quickly between different physical locations, that we can choose files or folder to share and who to share them with, that we can see the history of the syncing process as well as the progress of a current sync, and the fact that the syncing is seamless (we never have to think about it). It is also a great way to automatically backup files to another computer/device and, again, never have to think about it. We've never had a technical issue either.

- The ability to share individual files or folders.

- Can't really think of any. We've been very pleased.

We had used the built in Synology cloud sync, but that was starting to get overwhelmed with the size of folders that we wanted to sync. Resilio has no problem with size and will intelligently find the fastest route to send large files. Either via Lan or Wan. Because of how well Resilio functions, we were able to move away from FTP access and Synology cloud sync and start using Resilio for everything.

That even if the main hub/server goes off line Resilio will intelligently find where the information is stored on client computers and turn those computers into hosts automatically.

The pricing structure. Having to buy bundles of licenses, rather than being able to buy one at a time.

Resilio always works and reliable shared our documents.

It is fast and always works. No central cloud required. Can function behind firewalls without problem.

On Linux, user/ownership management is a hassle.

Once the base settings are done, it runs smoothly.

Sharing links is a bit complicated at first.

The real-time scanning and syncronization features are great for remote workers coloborating with people in the office.

The interface and documentation could use some polish.

Overall experience has been good at having multiple office locations keep files shared/sync simply and easily. It has not been completely hands off and I discovered I needed to upgrade memory on NAS devices as Resilio does consume a fair bit of memory and the NAS would kill the Resilio service if memory or CPU useage becomes too high, but through experience and understanding limitations of hardware and software I find it is now highly reliable and I have peace of mind that all peer locations have an update to date version of all work files.

Runs on NAS and easy to add/share folders for syncing, so running common NAS in multiple offices the common UI/interaction has allowed for quick setup of folders to sync/share

Would like some better management or dashboard to monitor if peers go off-line or sync status, maybe some easier ability to add folders to ignore list versus having to edit a text file. A right click and re-index function would be useful as had a couple peers say they were synced, or a right click and re-start would be helpful. Would be helpful if there was some ability to lock out people accessing files from other nodes or warn them that someone else has the file open and as such changes can be lost.

Our experience with Resilio Sync has been positive, due to the overall security of our information, since we are in an industry where this factor is paramount. There have been some hiccups in introducing the system to others we work with, but the pros outweigh the cons for us. There are enough features to mitigate an error any user may makes when sharing company files and projects.

Love that my information is secure and not stored on servers in unknown locations. I enjoy that I can share folders located anywhere on my PC. The backup "archive" feature is wonderful at ensuring any changes/deletions can be mitigated if unwanted.

Some challenges when sharing folders with multiple people; occasionally I have to recreate a folder in order for all to be able to view/connect with it, which is problematic when users are located in a variety of locations and most are new to the program. There is some learning curve for some users to understand that the files are not being kept in a 3rd party location, such as file sharing programs where you can view the files online, because they are being stored by the company offering the service.

Synchronizing files and data.

Generally this software works to sync our server to our individual computers but we've had a myriad of challenges getting it to work. It's not intuitive for a 'non-computer geek.'

It's hard to use. The GUI is really not intuitive. by Resilio on 28/01/2019 Thanks for sharing your feedback. Please let us know what were your challenges and what can be improved in customer support service so we can improve.Resilio Team.

You are able to set up sync perimeters and access them repeatedly.

Difficulty in seeing up server-to-server sync and costs.

This program helped me eliminate the use of USB drives for sharing sensitive data between my clients and our firm. It has helped our firm create efficiencies that also keep our data secure.

I love being able to easily and efficiently share documents with my clients by setting up a peer to peer connection. This allows my clients and I to share and sync files in a secure way right from our desktops, eliminating the need for other file sharing programs that live in the cloud.

I did not like that there was no free trial for sync for business. I would have liked to try the program before purchasing it. However, with the right research of the program, I quickly became assured that the program would work well for me.

Local sharing is much easier here while using local storage options.

Not many negative points. There is a lag in syncing if there are many files, but it's not a hassle.

Works very well, and solved a colocation problem I was having.

Easy to use, and synchronizes without having all the data going through someone else's server

The server licensing is a little steep, as we are a nonprofit. However, it works for what it does.

Have used it for work with large clients and that's when I see the problems. However I'm using it at home as well and it works perfectly.

The setup is easy and when it works it works really well.

It's a bit temperamental working when it comes to large amounts of data.

We replaced Adobe Creative Cloud with Sync after our bandwidth was filled when all our LAN machines were trying to upload to Creative Cloud. We use Sync for working on all of our open projects. I was also able to get an offsite backup running using Sync on a NAS which saves me from physically carrying a RAID drive to and from our office every two weeks.

I like that it just works. Once it's configured it runs without out. My staff uses the Selective Sync quite a bit to only access the project folders they are working on. The Archive has also saved us a few times.

I think the trickiest part is understanding the Identity and device connection. I switched our Server to my "own" identity and have run all my devices, (phone, work laptop, Drobo, Server Mac) from the same identity for simplicity. Getting the offsite version configured with the Drobo was a bit tricky and customizing the power preferences so Sync doesn't hammer the hard drives was tricky however the support was helpful.

Resilio is one of the best subscriptions we have as a team. It is highly recommended if you work with large files that are difficult to email or send otherwise.

The best part of this software is that it is relatively inexpensive and it allows you to simply drop large media files in to an integrated folder on your desktop. Our team uses this to share large media files because we cannot send them via email or another software. I think it is much better than dropbox because you don't have to log in or worry about the storage size.

Sometimes there is a lag time between when you drop a media file in the folder, but it usually isn't more than an hour or so.

I have been using Resilo Sync for about 2 years now in order to distribute large files between multiple workstations, and an off-site server. When poor SFTP / SCP speeds, and a lack of automation began to hamper productivity I chose Reslio Sync as a replacement for manual file transfers and now experience fantastic transfer speeds compared to SFTP/SCP, plus the added benefit of automation! After the initial configuration, I can't say that I've needed to touch Resilio Sync again except to add a new client, but I know great support is available if ever I encounter an issue.

Automation! Replacement of manual FTP/SCP transfers of large files that were hampered by ISP throttling. Knowing my files are always being synchronized, 24x7x365.

Absolutely no complaints considering the affordable price for the premium products, and the availability of a generous free trial there is no risk in giving Resilio Sync a shot!

Unfortunately Resilio Sync did not work out for our use case scenario and we switched to another app.

Resilio Sync is easy to setup and get going

Lack of filtering features, needs more advanced control for file filters.

Resilio Sync is simple to set up and just works. I love that I can quickly share a folder with anyone and all of it is kept in sync without having to be centrally stored on a cloud server. Perhaps my favorite part is that it doesn't take over all of the network bandwidth. When other services or downloads need the speed, Resilio naturally throttles back to allow other applications to function and then resumes at faster speed when it can!

There isn't much to not like. While I do sometimes feel that it's a little pricey, I get good value for my money which is why I keep paying!

Fantastic support.

It works well, simple to use, does not have any major flaws.

Unfortunately there is a "theoretical hard cap on files" as we are a large business with huge amounts of data this is not going be the solution for us, but for small shares or shares with limited file counts this is a excellent solution

Overall positive. I love the speed and how transparent it works after getting it set up. Definitely worth the effort to get it setup as long as you have decent backup (as you should) to deal with the absence of versions.

Very fast, reliable, trouble free after getting it setup.

No file version history (as there is no cloud storage) but it would be a nice feature to add, perhaps keeping them on local hard drives, USB drive or network drive; An awkward/confusing process to a share a folder; Licensing also was confusing

It's been really excellent. This has made distributing project folders and miscellaneous files seamless between team members.

Muito fácil de usar.

It occasionally gets confused about temporary files (such as those generated by Microsoft Word and SpaceClaim). Resilio will try (and fail) to synchronize them, and some computers will end up thinking they're missing files from the share. It's a pretty minor issue, as no real data files are missing, but at a glance in the status window the share can look incomplete.

We're still trying it out to see if we can use it for file transfers in our production environment. But it's great for sync-ing to our backup sites.

It's easy to setup. And configuration isn't too difficult as well.

It's almost useless if you're just sync-ing or transferring files to 1 or 2 sites. by Resilio on 30/10/2018 Hi,Thanks for the positive review of the product! Could you please contact us and let us know why Sync is useless with your 1-2 sites use case? We may advise how to use the product more effeciently, or plan an improvement.Resilio Team.

Despite the total excrescence that is their support, the product is actually so good that we use it anyway. Just make sure that you have plenty of RAM, whatever you think you need, double it.

The peer to peer and server to server syncing is fantastic. We use it primarily for syncing servers together for multiple locations. Nearly instantaneous syncing, even with millions of files. Truly best in class performance, as long as you have some fairly beefy hardware.

The support. Absolutely terrible. Intuit or AT&T levels of bullshit terrible. Insultingly, amazingly, brutally awful. Might as well come with a caveat emptor label. Pretty sure Google Translate is involved, I also suspect infinite monkeys on keyboards. by Resilio on 30/10/2018 Dear Jake,We are sorry to hear you've got a negative experience with our Support organization. We are constantly working to improve so hopefully you'll like our support more.

I am able to enjoy my 2 big screens at the office, but still have a project underway on the go.

I use this tool to work on my desktop computer when I am in my office, but also to have access to specific projects on my laptop on the go.

I've found that sometimes files are corrupted if the program syncs when I don't have the program closed on one device. I have to be sure the program is closed before syncing. I wish there were better instructions regarding this.

Overall, works very well for our purposes (transferring files over iffy/slow Internet connections to our China partner, where others timed out or were blocked by the Great Firewall). Had a license renewal failure that cost us a day of file transfer with our partner. File permissions don't transfer cleanly.

Fairly simple interface (other than licensing). Works over low bandwidth.

Does not have a rich options for selection or for transfer of attributes. by Resilio on 30/10/2018 Hi,The Sync Business is not intended for transferring file permissions, so it applies perms by default (usually, inherited from top level folder on Windows or using UMASK on *nix). Although please contact our support so we can try to find a workaround for you. Alternatively, you can use a Resilio Connect product (which is an enterprise counterpart of Sync) which has files permissions synchronization out-of-the-box.

I used to be a heavy Dropbox user but have migrated to Resilio Sync for all of my data sync needs. The product is much more secure and does not quietly change your data without notice. It also truly works in a cross-platform setup and can optionally save files that are deleted or replaced by a remote node.

Sync requires a little bit of planning and work to set up effectively. The administration is typically done in the browser which may not be to everyone's taste. File system overlays would be nice to have.
