Replies to questions quickly. I do not like reviews that demand we, the users, comment in so many characters. What I had to say was to the point and did not need any more dribble to make it more complete. Just leave a good thing to do its thing.

I have been in this industry for over 20 years and only have used SiteMinder for the last 6 years while I have been at this Motel and find it so useful and easy to use and would recommend it to anyone else think about using it.

It makes my job a lot easier with bookings and SiteMinder always keeps me up to track with anything happening on my internet bookings.

SiteMinder proper is a positive experience.

The flat fee makes it easy to budget and not have to analyze/verify/reconcile every month.

The SiteMinder program works well. My praises for GDS by SiteMinder are less, as its major functionality flaw for me is that travel agent information does not load into my reservations, creating a nightmare to keep staff trained and abreast of how to work-around this major deficiency. by SiteMinder on 29/10/2019 Hi Don,First of all, thank you letting us be part of your journey! We had a different channel manager when we started our business, it worked just fine but it had a lot of issues, & then we started looking, & we compared & tried demos for different channel managers, until we found siteminder, to be honnest we loved the sales person, they were convincing & we found everything we needed in Siteminder, they were very helpful during the mapping of rates & availability with all our partners, & they were very professional, working with us day & night until everything worked perfectly.

Availability of customer service is incredible, their very knowledgeable & will answer any question you have, never failed to respond to me in the whole year we have been working with Siteminder, they are very professional & will answer you in the best delays.

I wanted to like Siteminder. Their website touted how easy the system is, and its interface with my PMS. Their dashboard, while it has a nice design, is limited in what you can actually do with it. First off, the whole reason I wanted a channel manager was to make life easier for me, not having to constantly update rates on OTA's, and when receiving a booking, not having to enter information into the PMS again. Unfortunately, that's not what I got. First, the rate process and availability, is pretty standard, however, CTAs or MLOS or reservation cutoff times do not transfer from the PMS with the siteminder interface. Secondly, every reservation I get, I still have to enter some type of information: credit card numbers are not directly put into the PMS. So every reservation comes to the PMS without most of the guest information entered directly, then I get a separate email from siteminder with the reservation details, and payment information, which is also password protected, so then I have to look up some obscure password that they send to you in the signup process, and is so long, you could never possibly remember it. Then you have to take that information from the email and put it directly into the PMS....Why am I paying a separate interface fee if I have to touch each and every reservation? Then, whenever a reservation is modified or cancelled, it is not updated automatically in the PMS, you are sent another email, and have to make these changes manually. Siteminder, please tell me again how this is making my life easier? Lastly, support is pretty much by email only. If you call, they take basic information, and that "support" person knows how to read the user manual, and if they can't figure it out, they have to push it off the "second tier support" who only emails you. Not too mention, they are in the UK, with a 5 hour time difference from the US. So if you have a problem at say, 4pm, when people are checking in, you are out of luck. I cannot recommend them. I am only sticking with them for a small time frame, because I have already paid a setup fee to both my PMS and Siteminder, and as soon as I think I've gotten my money's worth, I'm jumping to another channel manager. by SiteMinder on 10/10/2016 Hi Sean, we're sorry to hear that you haven't had the best experience with our products. We are a boutique hotel of 14 rooms and have been using SiteMinder (and the Booking Button) for over 7 years. One of the great things about this product is it is in constant development. New features are released regularly, and the product evolves with market feedback. Compared to most software companies one of the best things about Siteminder is their support. A phone call to an Australian call centre, no waiting on hold for hours, and satisfactory and immediate assistance!

Being able to control our rooms, rates, stop sell dates, min. stays etc in one easy place. Moving to SiteMinder after being part of a chain group was made easy by the SiteMinder team and the training & support given.

Not being able to update past a year or so into the future. Sometimes the logging in can be difficult. An old password seems to be "remembered" by the system and each time I log in I have to delete that old one and re-enter with the correct updated one. Worst customer service.

Easy for basic use, no installation cost, reasonably priced. This is where the pros stop.

The customer support!! The worst I have experienced. In fact it is non existent. Since years I have been trying to get a rate loaded, and I was not getting anywhere. I follow the steps and it says its loaded, but when client tries to use the rate code, they cannot. So they tell us they don't see the rate code. Anyways I gave up, since it was taking up too much of my time and getting nowhere. A few months ago, I ran into the same contractual issue with client, who insisted I load the rate code. This time, (due to my previous experience), I delegated the job to another colleague of mine and was hoping she would have a different experience. But no, she was given the same run around and got nowhere. She has given up too. We are still without that rate loaded, and don't think it ever will be. We have been using Little Hotelier with Siteminder (same company) for almost a year. For a company of it's size, the lack of support is astounding. I am constantly chasing them up for answers for the most simple issues. Even after going to the head of the department, issues are still just left or put in the too hard basket.

It puts bookings into the system via channel manager as it should, well most of the information but not all.

This is something we don¿t do very often, however we felt it was important as you were passionate about the suggestions. We are working on invoices. However, due to varying global regulations, it¿s a big project. We do understand how important this is, but we want to develop this feature properly ensuring it complies with international requirements. It is amazing until there is an issue!

User friendly channel manager that links to the main partners. Efficient and fast communication. Very good tool to keep parity across the channels. Refresh restriction and rates as fast as our direct website. Functionalities are great!

Support service! The tool is great until there is an issue. Then it become a nightmare to have things done. Even the smallest request seems to difficult to execute.

Being in the hotel industry, we operate 24/7, and when there is a need for customer support follow up, you would expect 24/7 or at least decently efficient follow-up.

It makes it easy for revenue managers to combine all OTAs into one platform, to manage rates and availability.

This a great channel manager with lots channel distribution. It works perfectly. no problems with double bookings.

The customer support is bad. They take more than 24 hours to give an answer, which is a long time when you're dealing with reservations. The Bookingbutton from Siteminder is the worst we have come accross. It is less than ok: The mobile embed widget doesn't display properly and we have been in touch with Siteminder but after a month of them knowing about the issue this has still not been resolved. You don't have a choice of Payment Gateways in Europe other than Paypal - which is terrible. Siteminder could be so much better if they improved their customer service. At the moment we would not recommend using them at all.

Simple to use interface and most of the time very self-explanatory.

Customer Support is the worst. Overall Siteminder does what it needs to do and when everything is working as it should, the system is great, saves a lot of time and speeds up processes. For larger organisations that operate at high occupancies, it is inevitable that in occasions overbookings can come in.

Great all round system when everything is going well.

Support is very slow with a lot of chasing required.

We use two SiteMinder products - The Channel Manager and TheBookingButton. Integration is very easy and overall SiteMinder saves us a lot of time so we can spend more time tending to our guests. The Channel Manager also gives us peace of mind as we don't have to worry about double-bookings.

My least liked feature of this platform is probably their booking engine. It's very archaic and not very user friendly. Since we do not depend a lot on the online reservations (we do more contract and group business), the low flat price is good for us.

The flat rate for the Channel Manager, so we are not paying for each reservation that comes thru the channel manager. But then we signed up for GDS thru them, thinking it was the same way, but it turned out they are charging heavy fees for the GDS reservations.

Customer Support. Terrible.... Hard to get anyone to help you. Don't know who to call. They are based out of Australia, and I dont think they have a very strong support system for their US clients. I have been trying to get a rate loaded, and haven't had much help.

Overall, I find the system somewhat confusing, however the support team assist as best they can. I would say I am pretty tech savvy, and my issues are likely to do with the fact I was not on the team that chose and implemented this system.

The number of channels Siteminder connects with allows us a very simplified method of linking and updating our huge number of packages and rates options to many different channels.

have spent plenty of time on it to set all the channels up so I haven't been able to move elsewhere but will be looking up other systems soon. Need to see what works better in this big market, They never ask themselves WHY Siteminder?

Having the entire SiteMinder suite of products has reduced our time spent managing reservations and has provided a brand presence that truly reflects our vision of a boutique hotel. Canvas has also improved the quality of guest interaction with our website, they are spending more time in areas like rooms, gallery and attractions. Great. It revolutionized my business 5 years ago, but I believe the market has changed since then and Siteminder will have to change with the times eventually.

Brings together most of my channels to one easy to manage place

Only works at a group of rooms/properties level. So I cannot list individual property availability which many sites require. For example - AirBnB work on a per property availability while Booking.com and Expedia work on the availability across your properties - like rooms in a hotel.

Horrible- I would not wish this service for anyone.

I like that I can get out of using it as soon as possible- they make it time consuming to try to setup and get working but at least I can leave after months of horrible service and no functionality.

Absolutely no customer support- their phone line support always responds that everything is working when nothing is setup correctly. Their email support just never gets back to you. We were looking for one product with which to manage our inventory for several different OTAs. This is what SiteMinder does beautifully. We are also able to offer unique specials on our own site by using Channel Manager as our booking engine.

The only criticism is minor. When using the calendar feature in the RESERVATIONS menu to jump to a specific date, after entering the start date, you must also go back to the last calender and page forward to the required finish date. For example, if it is Feb and you want to look at arrivals in August, after selecting the "From Date" of 08/01, the "To Date" does not automatically change to August, but remains in Feb until manually moved to August. by SiteMinder on 26/02/2020 Hi Cynthia, Thank you for taking the time to share your review with us! The property I manage online is displaying live availability 24/7 across many channels, including Airbnb which is becoming a popular OTA. Room rates can easily be adjusted for specific periods. Overall this is one of best systems ever and very user friendly, which is very important.

It is so easy to setup; from adding a new channel to the mapping process. Rates can easily be configured for specific room types and channels, unlike others which are not so flexible.

Does not have HBSi connectivity. The channel manager gave me flexibility to change prices regularly according to availibility of rooms and market changes. The bookingbutton gaves possibility to integrate direct hotel bookings into the system, although it hardly generates them. The accessibility to support is quite good and personal, although with some delayment exceptions.

gives good and simple overviews of daily availability and prices of roooms

it logs out very fast, so sometimes you have to fill out the same information twice, which is annoying

It is a one stop shop in updating and controlling inventory. As stated above the support is exceptional with very friendly, professional and knowledgeable staff. I am not a computer whizz and I find the support staff are very understanding of this.

I find the software very easy to work around and when you have any issues or problems the help facilities and also customer service staff are very helpful.

We have been using SiteMinder for the last 10 years and have found it to be completely reliable and meets all our needs to operate a 14 unit 5 star motel.

We find the system very easy to use and quite easy to train new reception staff. We manually adjust rates and conditions on a daily basis to maximise occupancy and yield.

I work with many hotels, and having a tech solution that helps me save time and save money to the hotel is a must. I came upon siteminder looking online and I have already implemented it on several properties. Has everything you need to control your inventory and avoid overbookings. The website templates are also great, ease to use and fast.

SiteMinder was able to promote our listings on sites that require a partnership to do so and on this merit they did a good job.

We were able to promote booking options on sites like TripAdvisor.

You are forced to use their booking engine which wasn't really setup for how we facilitate online bookings. Overall, this software is great for web-based authentication and allows for employees to sign on and follow policy within the company. Customer support can be lacking at times, but they are needed so rarely with the software that it does not make a significant difference.

This software is great for creating efficient sign-on practices and allowing policy-based authentication. It is very simple to use and set up and gets the job done.

Overall, our experience has been nothing but positive. Online booker engagement is up, and times on page have increased, which has allowed us to build bigger and better audiences for our online direct channel.

Their whole suite of products simplifies managing reservations for a smaller chain like ours. I find their website design to be easy, intuitive, and devoid of 'too-many-options' which sometimes scare bookers into exploring more and booking less.

I would never recommend this to anyone. The support is awful, they have little idea about the product. Honestly, it is easier to muck about with it yourself and find the solution on your own than call a useless support team who rarely know what they are doing. I don't think I've ever called and found them to be useful.

The chanel manager works and makes it easy to manage mutiple selling platfroms.

I have been using this for 2 years and in that time they have made not one single improvement to anything. I buy a suite of products. Little Hotelier (back office) Siteminder (Channel Manager) and The Booking Button (online reservation booking engine)

Simplifies my life, a lot.

Tons of integrations, at a pretty much fixed price. Lots of others charges per reservation, per connection, or whatever, but Siteminder only charges per room. Nothing else. It's super clear and transparent.

It still functions as a middle-man. Lots of new PMSs are offering integrated Channel Managers, and they will be more native, which will inherently have an advantage over traditional Channel Managers.

This tool does the work that an assistant would do for me.

The thing I like most about SiteMinder is its functionality, we have live connectivity to a wide number of OTAs and it has reduced workloads and increased revenue.

The software itself has never failed.

The desktop version has always worked well. I changed to resonline a few years ago but found their software to be unreliable.

The mobile version has a lot of problems. It is difficult to change any details once entered as in dates, number of people. It displays the lowest starting price rather than the cost you are about to pay, it then displays the cost on the next step in tiny font which is very misleading. At our hotel (Hotel & Gasthof zum Hirsch) we have been using SiteMinder technology for 3 years. We love that we can make changes to our Canvas website without needing professional IT background. Our direct bookings have increased by around 18%, we have more independence for 3rd parties and we are gaining a lot more traffic.

This channel management software help us save time a lot when compare to update manually in each channel. Report is also useful for check guest check in and check out dates.

Sometime the inventory update delay 5 - 6mins, but this isn't happen frequent. What I like most about this software, is the peace of mind knowing that the bookings are taken care of & I do not have to be concerned about double bookings. Especially as we are in Australia & a lot of our guests are from Europe & America, which is on a different time zone. Before we had SiteMinder we had a few double bookings & we had to relocate the guests to another BnB, which was disappointing for both us & the guests.

Overall, there is nothing to complain about. I just have to be aware if there is a cancellation, to go into the site & re-open the rooms. Adding basic content to the CMS is fairly straightforward but there is nothing this offers which cheaper competitors don't.

There doesn't seem to ever be any updates made. As someone who works in digital marketing, making updates to the site to improve SEO performance is critical. However this CMS doesn't even allow the simplest of updates. It doesn't allow you to update page titles without the H1 header and main navigation title being updated. So just to be clear, updating page titles on their own is NOT POSSIBLE. This is 2017! We've been asking the question for over a year about when this will be updated and it's still not done! We still can't update page titles (some of the most important elements for SEO) and therefore are losing out on revenue because of this CMS. It also doesn't allow users to set up 301 redirects, which is simply laughable. Again, this is also impacting our performance. If it was solely my choice I'd have changed a long time ago. Very basic of use but with time it's a lot effort to have to double up with a separate accounting software when everything could be easily.

Very very basic. So if you want something that requires limited knowledge to use that software, this is it. Not a fancy software at all. You get your reservations in and that's pretty much it. So that might fit some.

Biggest con for us is to have only a 2 weeks at-glance calendar. It's annoying. Siteminder should work on it. Then when you click on "save" sometimes it does not save properly and you have to start all over again.

It is the only real serious booking engine available to local hoteliers and we would have a problem getting direct bookings if it was not available to us.

The staff that answer the phone are lovely and try to be helpful when you phone and the on hold music we spend hours listening to is good

Those that answer the support phone are lovely people and try their best to assist. However, they seem quite often not to fully understand what the product can and cannot do. And if your problem (one that is caused by a siteminder malfunction and one that can be losing your small business money)) ends up in the tech department - then watch out. They sit on the problem for a week and try finding out when it is going to be fixed. Here at Bolton on the Park, we use The Channel Manager and TheBookingButton and find that they work really well for us. The Channel Manager makes it easy to manage all of our channels and inventory on one platform - I couldn't imagine what my life would be like without SiteMinder!

We are running at total 32 Rooms distributed on 9 active OTAs. Siteminder has do a lot to assist us in managing and distributing our room rate and availability with zero failure. It gives us more time to manage other things in our hotel.

We can know a lot of Online Agents which have been joining with Siteminder.com so that we can contact several of the potential Online Agents operators to make contract agreement . The Channel Manager is simple to use and gives me complete control over my inventory. For example I can allocate rooms how I like, adjust rates and set minimum stays without any issues.

We are a small Boutique Hotel with 27 rooms. We have been using siteminder for almost 7 years now. Good thing with siteminder is that they always improving their products, upgrading some of the features but still keeping it very easy to use it. I used other products before, updates were very slow compare to siteminder.
