I am able to communicate with my contacts and share documents right there in my browser without the need of looking for another software

I am impressed of how it has improved and how is more user friendly. To be able to see the history of a conversation that you had with your contacts is a great tool. To be able to share documents from google drive or from your computer, makes things so much easier

I would like to be able to make a phone call to a contact from the chat. The only option I see at this moment is video meeting. Also, I believe the audio for phone calls need to improve. I have to make several calls because I don’t have a good connection with the other end.

This tool is becoming rapidly popular these days for fast connectivity and professional linkage with the clients and professional colleagues. It has got abundance of different features to execute all kind of communication. We can chat via text messages, audio calls or video calls. This tool is preferably used for video communication which could be one-on-one video calls or conference meetings. The main accessibility of using this app is that it automatically integrates with our google account and provides 24/7 backup to chats and easy connectivity with the connections.

On count of my experience, I have personally very well like this tool for its efficient performance. However, this tool is not yet popular enough and still we have to connect via other apps with non-users of Hangouts. I have also experienced distortions and disruption in the video quality mostly during the conference meetings. The audio quality also often lags. We also have to stay connected with the internet for essential notifications and messages.

Super happy with this product, glad to have made the switch and have no intention of switching to anything else anytime. (Though I do wish I could record meetings...)

- You can have a call (audio, video etc.) with one or many parties, share your screen if needed and make configurations. Super simple to set-up and also to combine with other tools you are using.

- With other products, meetings used to automatically be recorded and made available to me which was great for going back and making notes, double-checking things etc. I just Googled and technically recording is also possible with Hangouts BUT "This feature is available with the G Suite Enterprise and G Suite Enterprise for Education editions."

Excellent, would highly recommend it, especially if you're already using gmail within your company - it's already right there for you in the corner - don't need to install another whole program like slack

First used hangouts years ago when I got my Nexus 4 phone. Loved it then for personal use. When I started my job @ Rogue, we started using it for business use after our team started growing a bit. We use a lot of google products on a daily basic - sheets, docs, gmail. Having hangouts right there in the corner on your gmail inbox screen is great. perfect for things that arent super important at work. Great way to communicate things that aren't quite so important without having to walk across the building and waste time.

Really no cons to report. It's another well-thought-out product from google, functions perfectly, and provides a nice little solution for us.

The company I work for uses G-Suite, which means, Hangouts is integrated with the package and is the way the team stays connected internally (besides emails). It's very simple and easy to use and does the job. I've previously worked for companies that did not use Google Service and the only way to communicate internally was emails, and they all had to be formal. But now that I use Hangouts, I can communicate internally (and sometimes externally) with anyone. It's fast, gives you the ability to create group-chats and it doesn't require installation since it's browser-based and even on the same page as the emails. It also supports calls, sharing pictures and GIFs (not the the best thing to do in a professional environment). I personally can't and won't feel comfortable going back to what I used to use before. It's ideal.

Based on my personal experience, there's nothing that I could list as a con, however, I'm aware of its shortcomings when it comes to certain areas of improvement, like number of participants in video meetings, which we use a separate tool for, therefore I can't list this as a con because it's not something that held me back personally.

I use this app weekly, but its very easy and useful for chat with friends or family.

Google Hangout is a professional platform through which clients and business owners interact without having to share personal contacts.At our workplace the share screen feature has especially been helpful when communicating with overseas clients. When am out of the office i can still reply to text through my android smart phone.

If you are looking for a video and chat platform then Google Hangout is the solution. All one needs is a Gmail Account and if possible install Chrome as your browser. You can chat with colleagues as you continue to work on your other projects online. The messages come in faster.Creating groups is also an easy task.

Sending large files and images is not possible which make one look for other alternatives. The video calls doesn't allow many people to conference at the same time.

It's a great app, easy to use and while this software isn't the first thing I go to for video chat, when I have problems with Skype Hangouts generally works fine. It's particularly handy when Gmail is the preferred email because chats can be accessed in the email sidebar, and syncing between mobile and desktop is seamless.

This is my go-to chat app for desktop and mobile, it's easy to use and dependable. I prefer it to using Skype for Business to chat because the crossover between desktop and mobile has been difficult with Skype but works fine for Hangouts. Generally when a Skype connection is flawed on mobile or desktop, I can use video chat on Hangouts and it works just fine.

I wish it were searchable - to find a specific previous topic in a conversation requires scrolling through the entire conversation. A "search conversation" field would be helpful - I think there used to be this option when accessing Hangouts through Gmail, but it doesn't seem to be there anymore. Additionally, while there is an option to turn off chat history or to delete a conversation, there is no option to delete specific texts within a conversation.

We can communicate quickly throughout the office, make group chats, send pictures, documents, etc.

Good design and setup--easy to see if people message you and easy to integrate with phone, so you can be notified anywhere, at any time. Easy to manage notifications. I like the way link previews show up as well.

Limited in some aspects. For example, when you press "enter," you automatically send the message (instead of starting a new paragraph), which is pretty annoying. Also, deleting your messages just sends them to a different version of hangouts, or sometimes your email. So that is worrisome. Also you are not able to copy and paste text into the field, which is just weird. It comes across as it's own little "document."

Excellent. This software is fantastic and belongs in everyone's day to day use, be it for business or personal reasons.

Google Hangouts was Facetime before Facetime existed. This software has grown rather robust over the years and is extremely easy to use. I personally trust in this software every single day as I use it at all hours of the day to both video chat with clients/business associates as well as to call/text and video chat with my family. You can even do conference calling/video calling with this software with great ease. It's availible on most iOS and Android devices as well as all PC's and MAC's running Google Chrome. There really isn't a great deal to complain about regarding this software. It's quite easy to use, connects to your google voice number (which you can then connect to every phone you have no matter what network they are on) and you can keep a contacts listing to ensure you always know who your calling and who's calling you.

Nothing... Literally NOTHING. This software is great and keeps getting better. I guess the possibility of Google killing it off might be a con since they're famous for doing stuff like that to software tech savvy people enjoy more often than "regular" users.

Allows a lot of people to join in on the discussion, share their screens, and otherwise collaborate. Also easy to allow someone to dial in.

Mute can be flaky such that you may have to leave and join a few times to get it working. Camera defaults to on which can cause privacy concerns if you neglect to turn it off. When connecting via phone it warns you to mute when there are 4 people on the call. If there is a large number of people it forces mute when you dial-in and you have to hit *6 to unmute (and the annoying bot talks over the whole process)

Our company has a very flexible work-from-home policy, which means that most of our meetings occur with someone joining via Hangouts. It's usually a very good experience, we share screen and work very much like we were sitting side by side. It's especially useful for working on a shared Google document, both reading and editing at the same time. We also use it with clients, who are increasingly adopting Google suite as their corporative tool for emails and documents. We've grown so used to this way of remote collaborations that we cringe when asked to use Skype and get office documents attached to emails. I would definitely recommend Hangouts as a great tool for video meeting and collaboration, however I cannot vouch for it's performance with large quantity of attendants, we usually have no more than two or three people connecting remotely to Hangouts.

Simple, intuitive yet powerful. Simple chatting with co-workers has declined on Hangouts since we started using Slack, however, Hangouts remains our default tool for video calling and online conferencing. The best about it is that its easy to use, simply calling from the chat window, or, as we mostly use it, by creating a calendar event and joining from Hangouts. It usually works well, without delays, and we can screen share easily for remote co-working.

Its a bit connection intensive. If your connection is seeing a lot of use, then Hangouts might be a bit slow. We usually turn the camera off to save somw bandwidth, especially if we are screen sharing since we don't need to see each other anyway. Audio and shared screen is the usual way to work on Hangouts for us, and we do use it often. I'd say that over 80% of our company meetings have someone joining via Hangouts.

It's very very easy to use, very intuitive. You can and more than one member at the same call. You can share your screen so everybody can see a presentation or some topic to talk with all the members. And the thing that oi love the most its that is the complete ecosystem of google Google rock's my life) so, you an send and email, schedual the meeting, put it in the calendar and connect trought the link of gmail, or trough the calendar reminder. So you don't have to use a lot of apps separately.

I have to be very honest, i'm not the most picky one with this call sites, i have a great experience with hangouts because i use daily mi gmail and calendar, so its very natural for my to integrate hangout to my ecosystem. I don´t hae any negative thing to say about this app. I'ts very simple and frendly.

Google Hangouts is without a doubt a powerful tool when communicating with the work team. Having the possibility of sending and receiving information in real time in several types of formats makes possible a much more fluid communication that allows to increase in a remarkable way the efficiency in the office.

Google Hangouts is an application that has a very friendly interface that makes it possible for any user to learn how to handle it quickly. Aesthetically its appearance is pleasant which makes its use a very positive experience. The possibility of working directly from the Gmail platform I think is its greatest attraction since from my point of view it is the most robust and efficient communication service in the world. The possibility of synchronizing several devices at the same time allows me to work from anywhere, 24 hours a day, if I wish.

I really do not find any greater weaknesses in Google Hangouts. The only thing I could say is that the video calls require an excellent internet connection, which maybe in some occasions and depending on the area where we are with our mobile phone, we can present problems.

We are a team of consultants who work onsite at client sites so this is an inexpensive alternative to travel and to have an office. Also our clients themselves are global companies so they expect us to be competent in this tool.

I initially installed Hangouts because it was the only way I could receive text messages inside of my office, which has terrible reception due to all of the sound insulation (we do voice recordings in-house.) It was a SAVIOR when it first came out because Google was one of the only companies supporting Wifi calling and texting. I also liked that I was able to have Hangouts to route multiple numbers (I'm in NYC and LA.) When it first came out, Hangouts was completely innovative.

Google has too many departments designing conflicting products instead of putting all hands on deck to work on one piece of software. Google Chat? Wave? Plus? Hangouts? It's insane. I pay for GoogleFi now with the express interest of using hangouts, so I can get texts on my computer. But when I try to load it on my Google Pixel, it's slow - like, "1997 loading a JPG-level" slow. I don't trust that many of my texts are going through and that I am receiving them. Sometimes a message that a friend sent a day before comes to me in the middle of the night. It feels like Google is phasing this out, but it is unclear what the replacement will be. I am so horrified that I might honestly just switch plans. Now that young people use texting as their exclusive method of communication, I have found that this is hurting my social and business-life. It's pretty pathetic that Facebook Messanger - a free service - is more reliable than Hangouts, a product that I now technically pay for as a GoogleFi subscriber. I am losing faith in the Google Brand because of this product. And because many users do not pay for Fi, they provide almost no customer service for Hangouts, because they are overwhelmed with complaints from their free users.

I love this software! I really do. I use it as the team chat in my organization. For simple communications and messages this is my to-go software. It's instantaneous, and since it's an extension from Google, the messages can be received either through the computer or the cellphone. In addition, the video conferencing and share screen options are awesome! It's been proved to be very helpful to me when I want to discuss about something with somebody who is not physically present. I use this software for work only to avoid confusions with personal communications.

I like a lot of things about Hangouts. First, I love how simple it is. Second, I like the fact that is an extension from Google and connects/synchronizes to your Google account. I mean, who doesn't have/use a google account these days? You can receive messages directly to your computer or your cellphone. Hangouts knows what device is active. I also like the emoticons, they are different than other messaging softwares and apps. So far, I am loving Google Hangouts because of its simplicity, cool features, and connection/synchronicity to Google account.

So far, I have no complains about the software. I only use it at work as a way to keep separated work communications from personal ones. Although something I don't like is that in order to be able to receive messages, Google account must be initiated.

When using it with my Google Voice number, it's a great default texting app. A scarce few friends who also have Hangouts show up as native participants, but the rest are just texting through GV. I hate texting from a phone, so being able to use the Chrome app on a PC is what makes it my primary. I use Hangouts via Android Auto almost as much as I do from my computer.

It was dropped by Google as being able to handle native SMS with the carrier number. This is pointless fragmentation that was completely unnecessary. No one texts me at my carrier number, but I often have to use it with services that won't accept my GV number. And I often forget to even look there.

concluding, I think it is a great communication tool for business. If you already have a Gmail account, then it's worth trying. Especially if you see yourself reflected in the mirror with those companies that today have internal communications problems because they do not live in digital environments like this

Many will believe that hangout is just another mass communication channel. However, if we want to take this issue to the corporate area, it is impressive how many uses can be given to a platform like this.

Based on my user experience, I could say that one of the elements against, is the impossibility of adding more than 10 participants to a videoconference. I think it's something that could improve and give value to the tool.

The app is simple and good but lacks a lot of features that make it more old school .It doesn't have option of sending audios ans sudip notes which is most powerful part of conversation. App doesn't have option for sharing stores like other app making it more boring and not friendly we can only put status of some line to our profile.app doesn't have option of having a different profile photo from your google acount as it is integrated to google the profile photo of google acount automatically is the profile of your hangout acount .The media sharing option gives quality but takes much time and more internet data so making it not a good option for people using slow internet. Overall, I enjoy using Google Hangouts as opposed to other forms of communication with customers because it allows me the freedom to put people into different groupings based on their order type. It is easier for me to keep track of things, which is great because I'm also a busy mom on top of being a cake decorator.

Google Hangouts has been invaluable in my communications with customers and my director of finances (my husband). I use this on a daily basis to instantly communicate with each person. Hangouts allows me to create groups which allows me to separate customer orders into didn't categories, like weddings versus birthdays or friends versus regular customers. The notifications are easy to personalize and set up is a breeze. You can easily send pictures and information quickly, and it is nice that it tells you on the chat screen when someone is typing or if they've seen your message.

As far as I know, you are not able to send files with hangouts. This would be a nice feature to offer because then I would be able to send customer contracts and delivery agreements or invoices directly to them instead of in a separate email.

conversations on google hangout cannot be deleted or edited, that makes it to serve has a good record keeping platform for my organisation, in case i forget my past conversation i can search them out. Hangout has helped my organisation to save cost sourcing for other messaging platforms and i prefer it for instant messaging.

The fact that google hangout is well integrated for the google mail users and chrome users, makes me to prefer it.

I observed that hangout is not keeping up with latest instant messaging features, that allows to send multimedia document easily, accessing, selecting and sending images while on conversation is not easy to access on gallery at ones,the video call functionality needs upgrade to allow more people to share video calls at ones, my organisation is out growing the hangout messaging platforms, we need to be able to send pdf files on hangout, but hangout still remain our choice because it keeps us integrated in the google community, since what cannot be sent through hangout could be sent via gmail.

This is my favorite messaging app. It does everything I need (message, call, and video chat) and is perfect for communicating with family and friends internationally. I also like that I can easily switch between using my phone and computer (and sometimes tablet) to chat, and everything is seamless. I find this app easier to use than other similar messaging apps.

Ease of use: The platform is extremely navigable and intuitive, and I can easily switch from phone to desktop to tablet. It's also easy to switch between Gmail accounts. International accessibility: Compared to other apps and messaging services, I prefer Hangouts for chatting with friends and family who are traveling or living internationally. If they are on wifi, I can message, video chat, or call them without incurring any international charges.

I experienced some issues with keeping my call settings, however, this could have been user error on my end. Specifically, I was finding that the "incoming call ring" option kept switching off. This could have been related to updates.

My overall experience is you can not beat Google for the way they integrate all their products.

What I like most about this product is the ease of use and mobility of multiple products. The importance of a phone number linked to hangouts is vital for a traveling sales team internationally.

The only cons are I wish it had more features with a classroom setting with additional site admin functions for white labeling.

Hangouts is a fantastic option for online communication with teams or individuals. Here's what I like the most: - It's a standard app in the G Suite platform so everything works with your Gmail/Drive account. There's no need to learn a new system or create a separate login. If you have a Gmail account, your good to go for free.

It lacks a few advanced features that competitors offer, but given that it's free with Drive and all that Drive offers, this is hardly a complaint. This may not be suitable for online meetings involving multiple people in places.

Before we started using hangouts, we always had a lot of confusion as to what conference platform a meeting was going to be on, and if all the attendees had the correct information. With Hangouts, this issue has disappeared.

It auto embeds conference info into each meeting invite, via a link or a phone number. It's super easy and you don't need to remember to add conference info from an alternate. You can present, screenshare, etc. All the basic functionality.

It's pretty basic but there is nothing we don't like. The only feature we use another platform for is if we want to screenshare and give control to another user.

Hangouts is one of the most powerful software I have managed to make video calls and establish connection with people remotely. Hangouts has one of the most interesting elements for me and s that I can link my Hangouts account to my Gmail mail, very ideal because I manage a gmail account in my work environment, allowing me to have my work contacts linked to Hangouts and be able to make video calls with them, maintaining a good communication in my work environment. This benefit is very interesting because we can make work meetings with this software, as it allows a total of 10 people per video call, this makes the time I yield quite because we do not depend on coinciding in a physical space to make our meetings. And another element to rescue within the positive things of Hangouts is that my conversations can be saved in the cloud.

Previously I used this software to send written messages, however I noticed that in other text messaging and multimedia software there were better options to send messages and I stopped using Hangouts as my first option for sending text messages. I would recommend that the Hangout technical team incorporate aspects that nourish the software more, such as knowing that messages, voice memos and multimedia messages reach the recipient.

I use it to talk to my co-workers without having to shout out loud in our office. Since my office is an open space, I hate having to always get up from my chair to ask a question. Especially if a coworker is on a different floor and it's hard to leave my current work flow.

I love that within your Gmail, you can easily chat your coworkers. Whether it be questions on a project that you and a team mate are working on together or you just want to have a conversation with your office mate, g-Hangouts is a great option for you. It's also helpful to communicate if your organization doesn't have Slack or use any of the other chat services. G-Hangouts it's completely free and there's an app so you can take your conversations on the go as well! It's also very easy to have chats with your friends that work at other organizations that use gmail, during work hours. I do have a friend group chat and we're able to easily converse while getting our work done. This in turn lowers our likelihood at looking at our phones during work.

The emojis need to be updated. Besides using it as a chat, there really isn't much to it. Sending photos is a bit wonky and can definitely be fixed (in terms of viewing the photo, how the photo gets sent). The options are very limited for customization for g-hangouts.

We have been able to use Google Hangouts to quickly and easily communicate across departments and locations for simple and easy exchange of information.

Hangouts is incredibly simple to set up and use; it integrates directly into your existing gmail/gsuite account automatically and allows chatting with specific individuals or groups with a single click. You can create new groups very easily, and it's incredibly simple to keep track of who is talking. Chats are sorted by most-recent-first, allowing you to instantly spot new messages and respond.

There are very, very few features beyond what I've described in the Pros section. It's impossible to edit or delete a chat once it has been sent, there are no 'reactions' to individual chats, and most importantly there's no Level/Tier system meaning all chats are given equal focus and conversations can derail incredibly easily. Furthermore, you're restricted to using either the in-your-email interface, or the chrome addon interface, both of which have serious restrictions and failings in terms of notifications. The in-email interface makes it so you cannot see your chats unless you open your email tab, making multitasking very hard, and also masking notifications to the point it's basically imperceptible. The addon interface is bulky and unwieldy. It lacks any sort of stay-on-top-of-other-windows feature, and even if it had one it's so large you'd never want to use it. It doesn't pop itself forward when you receive any chats. The worst part is that it *used* to have an incredible addon interface, where it sat at the bottom of the screen only taking up a small handful of pixels, and popped up larger and flashed green whenever you had a new chat, and you could click on it to expand that chat to read/reply, and then minimize it back to the bottom of the screen, but then they "updated" it to the current version that's just objectively worse.

We use it in our Office setting, as well as for my clubs in college as a way of doing conference calls between executive board members. The chat to video functions make for smooth meetings, and every new person who is brought onto a call for the first time is impressed with the software.

My Gmail email is my primary email, and Hangouts is great because it is so easily integrated with my existing Gmail Address Book. I don't need phone numbers; I just need emails. This is great in a college setting, when emails are published to the whole class and you don't want to go around asking random students for their personal phone numbers... I also appreciate the wide array of actions that you can do with one simple application. From video calls to chats to messaging to conferences with many people, navigating between the functions is easy and hassle free. The mobile app is also really intuitive. Finally, it's a great messaging app to use when overseas/when talking to international friends. WhatsApp is popular, but Google Hangouts gets the job done.

I'd have to say my least favorite part about the software is the inability to share documents through the messenger. If there is a way to do so, I haven't figured it out yet. Also, the sharing screen feature is sometimes difficult to use and often more difficult to explain to new users. I think overall, for a Google application, it could have a few more features that it currently lacks. Sometimes I think that there was a big push on its initial promotion, but that attention to it has been pulled back in recent years.

I solved the problem of "how do I communicate with my kids" who don't have phones by using Google Hangouts.

When I used iphone but my kids had Samsung tablets, Google hangouts let us communicate with quick messages. Google Hangouts is part of the reason I switched from Apple iPhone to my amazing Google Pixel 3 phone. The entire Google Suite of products not only look great, but... they actually work. They work seamlessly on all of my devices. Google Hangouts is no exception. I added Google Hangouts to my Chrome Bar, but you can also access it from Gmail. We graduated from simple text messages (my kids loved adding the handy sticker options along the bottom) to phone calls and video chats. One extra level of face-communication. Oh! And Google brought all of my contacts in for me so I could start chatting with anyone right off the bat. Highly recommend. Easy to use, looks nice, simple features, and it works regardless of what platform or device you use.

There isn't much not to like. It works just like it's supposed to. We've never experienced static or hangups. A great product.

We are an information technology services company. We operate as multiple teams spread across the world. So the team collaboration is an essential part of our business continuity. Google Hangouts provides us seamless communication between our teams. It is very easy to use and only proper internet connection would be required and no high technical knowledge required for using this service. It also facilitates video conference as well.

Google Hangouts has made my work life SO much easier. When I worked at a university that used Microsoft, we had a hangout-type feature, but no one signed onto it. Now that I'm at a university that uses Google, communicating at work is significantly easier. I cannot image going back to a Microsoft school, in part because of Hangouts.

Google Hangouts makes communicating quick information with my coworkers and supervisor really easy. I love that you can message someone individually or create different groups with your coworkers. In my office, we also use Google Hangouts to share articles and images that we either want to make sure we all know about, or that we might want to put on our social media page. This is FAR easier and more efficient than sending those same messages in an email. Hangouts also allows for quick communication if you aren't able to connect with someone in person, but you need to get an important message across in a timely manner. It's really the perfect mid-point between an email or in-person communication. Also, thank you for the easter egss :) We love them and our students really enjoyed them too!

I heard it might be going away and that makes me really sad. I have nothing bad to say about Google Hangouts and I want it to stay!

Overall, for what the app is used for its easy and integrated and allows us to get our work done and communicate easily. We hope to see further enhancements to make this program a bit easier to locate users but still recommend it above all of the other options on the market.

Hangouts is a very versatile feature of the Google platform. We use it at our company for communications between our developers and network team, screen sharing, voice calls, and file sharing direct. It allows us to communicate from across our remote locations and stay in sync on the tasks that matter.

When Google Hangouts evolved from Chat they made the "Buddy List" feature disappear which is greatly disappointing. Having the ability to see all users that are online is a huge feature that our users are missing.

This is another amazing tool by Google for collaboration and connecting with people not just within colleagues but also to the world. I have made use of these particular tool for more than 3 years and it has been helpful all the way. Just by simply having a Google account you automatically have access to this feature. You don't need to install any application on your system to have this make for you. The ability to create chat groups for different teams to share there ideas and meet virtually is just so awesome. Google hangout has helped me amend bridges by getting back in communication with lost contacts whose numbers were not available and still it has made me catch up with information that I may have missed through the communication tool (both audio and video) and sharing functionality which is absolutely free and very reliable.

I remember when I spent the whole day researching just checking if there was an application for system users this was dishearten just to find out it's only available on smart phones to download but not available on systems. Another challenge is the fact that there is no option to attach voice note to the recipient and send as a message. When using the communication tool (video and audio) with the screen sharing functionality it sometimes slow and disconnect when the internet is really bad

Overall very satisfied with the product and for it's free price it outperforms almost any paid app that offers similar service.

Every day I'm using Hangouts to have our daily stand up meeting. Not only that all the schedule calls with stakeholders we are using Hangouts. The quality of sounds and Videos is amazing. No noise at all. Screen sharing feature and Muting feature giving us more flexibility when comes to group video calls. Mobile app giving me the capability to access chat and video calls from anywhere. That is the most advantageous feature for me.

Google Hangouts allowed me to stay in touch and collaborate on projects with coworkers while working from remotely for a company from home. Being able to video chat and participate in meetings with others allowed me the freedom to work full time and 100% from a home office. With Google Hangouts you can check a co-workers availability, send direct individual and group messages and video chat easily.

Google Hangouts is ideal for work and personal use however our company began to outgrow the video chat limits (Google Hangouts has a limited number of participants that can participate in a video chat meeting) and as a company we needed to switch to a tool that allowed a higher number of users to participate in those type of company wide meetings.

As a student i desperately need to connect with new contacts on Linked in and also creating video meetings. The best way i found to do this was using google hangouts to call my email contacts and they often replied right away. Hangouts also allowed me to set up meeting times on google calendar which was a huge help and became a norm for me especially like this summer when i needed to create a relationship with a mentor.

As a student studying abroad, i have found hangouts to be extremely powerful for helping me be able to keep in touch with my family and getting new connections. It is extremely simple but extremely powerful since everyone has a gmail account and can automatically access google hangouts. This makes it really easy to fill up my address book in hangouts with all the different people i regularly connect to through email (which is a lot since for students our email is a large part of our lives) and it helps me set up meetings even with new contacts like mentors and future business prospects.

It can sometimes be pretty slow. Compared to software like whatsapp that is very light, has fewer megabytes and stores less data, hangouts tends to run very slowly especially on my old and small phone. It is also kind of clunky on the UI design because larger parts of the UI tend to take up quite a bit of the screen compared to other messenger apps that have fewer clutter and more white space.

Google Hangouts is a wonderful communication tool. It is a great resource for video calls, audio calls, or conference calls with multiple people or just only one other person. I don't really have any cons. The internet is essential to using Google Hangouts. It cannot be used offline.

We use it everyday. Multiple meetings are held as we have employees and clients from all over the country and world who use it, and it allows us to bring them all together to solve an issue, talk about what's going on in the business or even planning an event.

My favorite part about hangouts is how easy it is to use. Whether it be chatting with a couple co-workers or having a meeting with 50-100 people. From setting up to joining. The whole application is very user friendly.

The only con about the software is sometimes you may get dropped in a call. This may not be a software issue as it could be network related, but I tend to notice the more people who join a hangouts meeting the, the quality seems to decrease a little bit.

The most annoying thing about hangouts was the process of inviting new users. The interface for inviting users with no current google account on a web browser involved a confusing UI, and there was also no confirmation that the invitation had been sent.

This is a great product that provides a free secondary phone line that can easily be tracked in Gmail. I would highly recommend for anyone needing an extra line.

Google Hangouts provides free phone service on the mobile app and desktop site, where one can make and receive calls and texts. We use this product as a shared line between employees and it is easy to track conversations which can be searched for keywords within gmail.

The main downfall of this product is that the names of contacts doesn't always show up even if they're in contacts. Some don't show up on the desktop whereas others do not show up on mobile and we're forced to use conversation context clues to guess with whom we're communicating. The phone service is also a little clunky and there's a slight delay on pickup, but that is not our primary use for the product.

The business teams run smooth and have realigned themselves with Hangouts. Now it is seamless for them to be using it for every small interactions with the teams.

The app integrates with the G-suite business account. We have created a department wise organisational groups who can transfer data and information through Hangouts.

The notifications on the G-Suite account is not very handy and there are times when the device policy is not synced with the mobile device the business Hangouts don't get displayed. It would be great if Business account Hangouts can run independently without the device policy synchronization.

I have only recently been introduced to Google Hangouts having used other video conferencing platforms in the past and I have to say that I have not been disappointed with my experience.

My company uses Google Hangouts for client demo’s, internal meetings with staff in other locations, and one of my favourite features is the fact that you can record a session and share it after the fact. We are currently investigating the option of hosting webinars via Google Hangouts as part of our Marketing strategy and I am looking forward to exploring this option.

The integration into gmail is the best option for me. You can also download an app. With Active Directory Sync it is very easy to locate employees and it does allow you to chat externally.

From time to time Hangouts would lose connectivity and go "Offline" while email was still available. This wasn't very often but it happened enough times to notice it over time. Notifications of a new message need to be worked on. It would be nice to see a more visible pop-up via the web interface. When I installed the app I began to see 2 windows come up and it was difficult to figure how and which one to turn off.

Many times is difficult make a videocall with clients who don't have the usuals software for comunication: Skype, TeamViewer, for example. So, Hangouts it's a better option that Facebook Call or Whatsapp.

It's easy to use, very intituive. The meetings are very easy and fast to organizate, using shared link. The quality of sound maybe are not the best but are good enough. The video depende of your hardware.

I found it one of the easier ways to make free wifi calls at the begining of the wifi calling era. They haven't adjusted with the times. i like the fact that it was one of the first free messaging apps out there. I have been using this software for what seems like ages. It does the job. There are not very many features within the app. and the emoji are kinda lame. When compared to other messaging apps like Telegram, it is pretty bare-bones. they have not upgraded the style or feel of the app to move with the changing times. This is more than just a videoconferencing app, you can make phone calls and send chat messages as well as text messages from your Google Voice account, which is not something that I’d expect when I signed up. Google Voice is yet another great product, but that’s a different review. I believe you can also receive phone calls through this app too, which is great if you’re on a device that you don’t want to make a phone call from.

Google products communicate with each other pretty seamlessly. Once you are set up with a Google account (and who isn’t, in 2019), you can just sign in and start working. Most of the time, you don’t even have to sign in if you are already signed in to your Google account on the device you’re using. So you won’t need to worry about registration with verifying your email address, all of that is out of the way so you can focus on learning to use the product, which is very easy.

I love the convenience of having all conversations on one "chat room" on the computer and am constantly "in the know". I would definitely recommend this to any one for personal and business use. I love that I can have this app on my computer for work and I will get notified that I have a message. There is nothing work-wise that I don't like about this software. I absolutely love Google to the point where I have phone service with them (Google Fi). The only thing with Hangouts is if you enable to receive SMS and voicemail through hangouts, you will NOT get any chat history on your regular messages app and even more so, you will not get notified that you are getting texts unless you open the app since it's not the default app. Though not a game-changer, it's an inconvenience.

Over 2 years I have been using google hangouts and my experience was very positive. It's one of the most famous and incredible applications available for communication. As station masters we do communication mainly through emails and video conferences. There are quite a lot of employees in each and every station and it is somewhat difficult to gather them all at one place to held meetings. So we decided to use video conferencing for meetings when employees are difficult to be gathered. Google hangouts help me to connect with other station masters. Google hangouts has everything that mandatory for communication. I don't need to install any application instead it's perfectly integrate with the email account. I can check the availability of co-workers and the important conversations with them can be archived easily. Normally we create calendar events and join from hangouts.While I'm using hangouts, I can access both my mails and chat from my mobile and my PC. The interface is really simple and easy to follow so that that even an average person can easily use this.

I love to have the feature of sharing multiple images and different file types with my colleagues. It would be great if google can improve on sharing different file types like pdf,xlsx etc and multiple images at once. Likewise google need to make certain improvements in hangouts to be competitive with other software giants in the industry. Google Hangouts is THE way to communicate with workers when you have a quick question that doesn't need the backup information from an email. It's quick, it's efficient and it's easy to do while working because it's right on your desktop. The ONLY thing that I don't like about this software is that you have to invite someone to join hangouts, and if they ignore the invite or it goes to junk - there is no easy way to re-invite them. You have to call them and if they are unfamiliar, you need to explain it all to them and hope they can find the original invite. Hangouts needs to find a better way regarding this. Also - GroupMe has the education market on group messaging - I think Hangouts could take over if they found the right way to do so.

This is literally the easiest chat and video conference platform, period. It truly puts other software to shame, to the point where it's hard to fathom that companies spend money on specific software to connect in this way when Hangouts is free with G-Suite and super reliable. I love that you can be on or off camera, you can readily mute yourself before even hopping into the hangout, and that it switches the view to the active speaker so that you never have to scroll or click through to see who is talking.

Sometimes, like with other Google products, it can seize up my Chrome browser. However, this is momentary and the lag will cease after a couple of seconds and allow me into the Hangout chat.

Overall I like the access to always being connected through Google Hangouts and being able to check in with others. Google hangouts is great as it is linked not only to your gmail account that allows you to easily locate contacts and their status. In addition, it also comes in a mobile app version that allows you to chat, or send information with ease from your smartphone device. Google hangouts timestamps when the person viewed your message and has a notification green dot to let you know the person is signed in to their hangouts account. I also like how it lets you 'hide'. You can change your settings so it doesn't alert people when you become available.

I have had some notification issues. When I am simultaneously logged into my computer with google hangouts, my phone doesn't seem to send me the notification that someone sent me a message. Sometimes I am idle at work on my computer and even though signed in, not paying attention to my screen, so it would be helpful that the notifications would still be pushed to my phone while I am logged into my computer in google hangouts and not just on the computer.

Been a really great tool for our company. All management can talk one-on-one or in team chats. We could also set up chat groups for all of our locations, departments and special needs. It's very user friendly. I like how it shows who has read a message. Not all programs have that feature.

Google hangouts is so easy to use! Everyone has access to it (with a gmail account), and it is free, so there is no requirement for everyone joining the call to download anything, or set up a subscription for video conferencing software. It is very easy to send links to join the call, share your screen, assign the presenter, chat, etc.

Most of the time, when I have used Google Hangouts, we've had to resend the link because the call could not be completed, or there was some lag in the video, or the sound would go in and out. I'm not sure if these problems were due to a poor internet connection, or something with Google Hangouts.

We are migrating to it from other platforms here at the company. I'm quite happy with that. It used to be quite bad but now the audio/video quality is good. I just don't like to use it with meetings with many people, it is sometimes very hard to understand other people. Yet, its ubiquity makes it great. I'd recommend anyone interested to check it.

I use Hangouts to contact potential clients. I like not having to share my phone number from good to first, I think it's important to keep my personal data protected. I prefer that my clients contact me by email or social networks before sharing my phone number. I also made videoconferences in which the shared screen is one of the tools I use the most. Although it seems incredible, I really like that Hangouts does not notify if the other person saw or did not see the messages, because I think it's an unnecessary functionality. Today we can see a message and not respond immediately because we are busy and for no other reason. But sometimes it's misinterpreted. This is one of the reasons why I like hangouts more than other messaging platforms.

What I like the most is that I don't need to share my phone number, only my Gmail email account and I already have access. It's totally free since it's another of the tools offered by Google. There're only two things that I don't like, one of them is that it doesn't have a desktop software but I have to use the web browser. The only limitations that I can think of is that you need extremely good internet connection in order to operate Google Hangouts especially if you are using the video/voice calls. Secondly, the Google Hangout app works extremely well on Android devices as compared to IOS or any other software.

Overall, Google Hangouts is pretty simple, easy-to-use and functions well as a chat/IM tool. It does not have the greatest layout or a bunch of bells and whistles but it is serviceable for sure and at the low cost of FREE, it's a solid option.

As with most things Google creates, Hangouts is a solid, easy-to-use platform for chat/IM. It works well for this purpose and you can even share images, files and links through chat. I have only done the phone call feature once and that experience was satisfactory. The mobile app works very well and it's very useful when you are not in front of your laptop. The mobile interface works very much the same as web app so there is no learning curve there.

I don't like how conversations are organized. In today's world of cell phone texting, I would much rather have conversations be additive so it's not so cluttered on the left-side conversations pane. Here is an example: I work with a team of 6. If I start a conversation with say, three of them, and then start another conversation several days later with the same three people, I get two conversations to track instead of just one. I also don't love the interface for how you add people to a conversation.

Hangout has helped my organization reduce spending on a previous collaboration software we hitherto used. I personally prefer hangout for my instant messaging activities. Not only is the software smooth and lightweight, but it is also very easy to use as well as been quick and unproblematic. It is the epitome of messaging convenience for me.

Hangout has over the years afforded me a simple and enjoyable messaging experience with the added advantage of been able to send multimedia as well as make calls at reasonable rates to phone numbers and contacts on your Gmail account that also use hangout. You can archive important conversations as well as easily send an invite to your contact within hangout to adopt the software if they are not using it yet. I miss the SMS functionality that was previously integrated into hangout and I still wonder why it was removed! For you to really enjoy Hangout, you require a very strong internet connection otherwise it becomes a real test of your patience. I also wish there was a way to reach your contact (maybe by assigning a hangout ID phone Number) so that you can call them when they are offline. You might want to avoid sharing very sensitive data with hangout as there is serious concern over the security of files shared with others within hangout. I also think the need to have a Gmail account in order to use hangout is not pleasant. It will be better if hangout can be designed to support a number of email service providers.

I love using Google Hangouts. It's a great way to communicate with clients, staff as well as friends and family. It's an instant way to communicate instead of email. I like that it's attached to Gmail and it saves all of your conversations so you can go back to them if you need to reference something. It used to be an add on right in gmail but now it's a standalone app which is great because it's not stuck in the browser window. It's also an app that can be downloaded to your iPhone or Android so you're able to communicate on the go. It reminds me of AIM from back in the day so I love having it. I'm not a phone person so having this as an alternative way to communicate is very helpful with keeping in contact with people.

The cons, when I use it on the computer it's hard to open my browser window if I have hangouts open. If I go to "file-new" it opens a new chat instead of a new browser window, so I have to close Hangouts and then open a new browser window. That's annoying but it's not a deal breaker.

I love using Google hangouts, much more than the last IM system we used in my office. I think they can improve upon the connection when first contacting a new person. For example, when signed into my phone from my personal Gmail account, I found it frustrating that I had messaged another user but they never received the communication. Only when they went on and sent me their own message did it finally connect our two lines. That is the only time I have ever experienced any trouble with this software.

Overall it has been a good experience for me using the Hangout. I am using this on regular basis on my PC and on my android phone and I can say this is really a one of the best software for communication with your loved ones.

I have been using this software since it's inception on Microsoft Windows and Android platforms. This is my primary way of communication when I need to get in touch with your friends and families. You can text, voice and even video call to the contacts you have in your contact list.

About con of this software, though I cannot think of many but one of the cons I would like to mention is its ability of provide many features such as the emoji collection is not up to the mark but again this is something that doesn't matter many so I think that was the only low point for me of this software.

This tool have proven itself to be exceedingly efficient in communication while handling several business tasks. Firstly its video call feature which allows me to communicate with several of my clients globally as well as keep in touch with my staff and members of my business developing committee in a bid to keep track of my work activities and also handle some simple presentation without being there physically.

I really appreciate the good things that I can do with this business software, but however I would want to state some few points that I consider lagging in this software which I know can be improved. I sincerely need the feature of sending multimedia content which is presently not available in the software, it will really go a long way in easing the stress of looking for a different software to do that. I would also appreciate if they provide a tool to know when a message is read. Aside from these hiccups google hangouts is totally cool.

It is quite useful for certain instances, works marvelous to video-chat with a friend for a bit or for a Company's presentations (Such as welcoming new employees that work remotely, or even for training purposes). It is a good and handy alternative to keep in touch.

I have mostly used Google Hangouts for personal purposes, it is handy among users of Google accounts, but it has more benefits than what I expected that I ended up discovering after I started working in the IT field. At our virtual office we tend to use Google Hangouts as an option for Presentations. I never understood why, since we use many other communication alternatives, but I came to the realization that Google Hangouts have a very easy to use option to show pre-recorded videos.

To be honest, for the most part there is really not too many negative things worth mentioning about Google Hangouts, but here comes a few: It is not the most reliable option to keep track of a conversation, since it doesn't really save the chats, it is mostly useful for certain instances only. Can only be used by users with a Google account. There are other competing alternatives that offer a broader set of options (I do not really think that Google is looking to compete with them, but actually offer something simple).
