With Jedox Enterprise Performance Management software you streamline budgeting, planning and forecasting across the organization. Boost data quality and analysis, slash budgeting cycles in half, and speed-up reporting with the modern, intuitive tool for finance, sales and other departments. A unique combination of flexible BI and planning capabilities, an Excel-optimized interface and a powerful modelling engine enable non-technical business users to build their own apps.
Easy to use back and front end
Lack of reporting functions
Excel like development of web dashboards.
Development of bigger web dashboards needs more then just excel knowledge to be fast.
Many customization options and interfaces to other systems. Various possibilities of evaluation and visualization. Very fast.
Sorry, but nothing to improve. Great software.
Not really an issue, but documentation is behind all the new features which come in quite high frequency.
It's an relatively easy to use, well developed, taken care for and supported product which has some (at least in this combination) unique features and combines several functions useful for Accounting, Controlling, Planning, Reporting and Management if integrated properly.
No huge cons here aside from the occasional bug (within the presentation layer) and sometimes slow speeds when aggregating and working with huge amounts of data.
in-memory, ETL integrator, Excel-likeness
the concept of performing complex batch calculation processes at run-time seems to be missing
Pricing is high they will have to look for it
Nowadays Jedox isn’t open source anymore, and some bugs are fixed in a bigger time range
Jedox is similar in many ways to IBM Cognos TM1, but retains the original features of Applix TM1 in a modernized form. The database is also very good for non-financial data. It is a true multi-dimensional database with both Excel-based user-interfaces and web-based user-interfaces.
Honestly, I have not found many cons so far, but I have not loaded any really large (i.e. multi-million record) databases yet. So there may be some pitfalls there. My current project has very complex data, but nothing larger than 100,000 records so far.
- No concurrent licence model anymore - No predefined templates for report designer
With Jedox, we find a very flexible and fast tool which supports our fast solution development. We use Jedox as the core technology for the integration with qlik.
its not so easy, to find somthing, that could be improved. A macro debugger can a helpfull feature - maybe in one of next releases.
The Web component of Jedox should be better. Specially better scrolling in using widgets.
Jedox is flexible, it allows you to extract data from any source systems and build the cubes that is relevant for any reporting requirements. Jedox Web Report is easy to use and it has a similar look and feel of Excel which means users who are used to using Excel is comfortable with using it. The support provided by the vendor is very good.
It is also the flexibility that Jedox offers. This means you need to have the right person in the organisation in order to set up the system correctly and use Jedox to its full potential.
Scaling to big corperate environment may be better. Better Performance needed.
Easy to use excel intgrated controlling software
no support of preformatted report templates
fácil manuseio
Bugs currently still available
.Divetsity .Not easy for complex projects.
The OLAP engine is fast and reliable. The interface is intuitive. Projects can be implemented logically and quickly. The designer interface makes it possible to use existing basic knowledge almost everywhere.
The biggest weakness of Jedox is its documentation. Sadly, the roots of Jedox have been forgotten and the original documentation has been replaced with a clumsy knowledgebase. In the intoxication of growth is the fact that knowledge acquisition and exchange are essential unfortunately fallen by the wayside.
- often System crashes
Subsets and Variables are very not as easy to use and one false step can lead to bringing the cube down. Another pain point is zero suppression when used in Dynaranges. It should be much easier.
Minor performance issues while using several excel templates with Jedox Addins
Anything is possible. The software allows you to build any customized solution.
There are a lot of ways to build a solution, often deep knowledge is necessary. It's hard to estimate the time you need to build features because things can be very tricky.
using MS-Excel at the front end, easy to handle
some reports which are not designed well by us need a little bit time to present
I have found no cons on this software at all.
performance creating web reporting could be better, time performance
The flexibility as well as the usability
As we've just started with the implementation of the software we have not yet experienced any negativity related to Jedox.
Minor inconsistencies in the user interface and sometimes the user interface behaves a little weird. However, overall this is minor.
Easy to bring standard reports to web and mobile
Mobile app could be improved a lot. Web-Reports could be responsive
Security can be complex and is not always intuitive, occasional slow speeds or crashes when working with very large amounts of data.
When you love using pivotal tables in Excel, but you reach the limited capacity of Excel, you can easily move your data into the MOLAP database and still keep on working with Excel.
The jedox app marketplace does not yet offer to filter by the price model (e.g. Free or Premium).
All-in-one product. Own SAP Integration, including BW and HANA. Excel like design perspective. Ease to use for building - even complex - planning scenarios.
No concurrent license model anymore. Weak predefining of screen templates, should be more construction kit like.
Without knowing it you can create a vast amount of data when Splashing on a "0" on a high level.
Ease of use and handling of elements. ETL and Cubes are built quickly and usual reportings are easy to build. However, almost always there are several ways to accomplish a given objective. The tool supports flexible and agile approachs.
UI is somewhat outdated and some features of the similar-looking excel aren't implemented (dashed lines, variable bar sizes, multi-axles).
The software demonstration was that the product can be used within 10 days. This is not possible. Unfortunately, there are occasionally load errors that can only be solved with the help of support.
- complete suite that includes everything (ETL-Tool, OLAP Engine, Reporting Component, Scheduler etc.)
- workflow is not a preinstalled component, but needs to be configured / build semi-automatically
Fácil de instalar,
Security is complex to setup
the software is absolutely customer oriented. Due to the clear cycles it is known when it is the next upgrade. After an upgrade all old functions always worked and the new ones were mostly well documented for the partners. The knowledge base is also always up to date.
Access to old updates is virtually non-existent. Also HotFix administration does not exist. The support helps there also only very limited.
Entering values is not as straight forward as expected (excel like). You have to use # in consolidated elements and the provided wizard is not always functioning.
Speed in Webmode by making new sites,
Easy to set up process that collect data from different people and to have them consolidated in a central place.
No support for docker setup. Setup as different services is not supported
- the easy way to powerful intergrator to import data from an existing database
- not usefull for long text
Planning functionionality, Flexibility, ETL Integration, WebClient, Open API
New pricing (Cloud and subscription only)
For excel users it is easy to use because of it´s closeness to excel and options for planning, analysis and reporting in excel via add-in as well as in an excel like web interface with similar functions. The ETL process is figurative and easy to track the different steps.
Sometimes drag and drop would be nice to use.
Performance in the web interface could be improved
It is ingenious how much is already included in the standard license (from integration interfaces to mobile reporting access). The flexibility of working with models as templates or with your own design from scratch is also convincing. With us, it adapts ideally to the requirements of everyday data collection and reporting.
The detail settings are not always so user-friendly. In most cases, however, further explanations can be found on the homepage.
- Very Excel like
- Sometimes error messages appear and you don't know why
- Easy to edit
- There is no surface to make backups
Jedox is an incredibly easy tool to use. The excel add in enables the user to work within excel which makes the experience feel familiar. This system can also be maintained mostly within Finance so gets rid of the need to rely on the IT team.
We work with a lot of data so sometimes found it a bit restrictive on how many dimensions we could have in a cube.
New releases are often not tested enough > sometimes a lot of bugs
Documentation for some functions is lacking, it has a short explanation of what a function does, but not how it does it, or what you need to do to make it work. Report building tool is powerful in it's similarities to excel but has some limitations and performance issues under some circumstances.
I like the power and flexibility of the integration tool. It has a very robust ETL component that enables connections to a myriad of sources and a very robust set of transformation tools. I also very much like the web development interface as it is very excel-like and easy to create very flexible reports.
When doing data transformations in the integration the fact that it is case sensitive I feel is a bit of an unnecessary nuisance.
the visual aspect is very appealing, and real-time data is a real savior ! Very easy to develop reports with this tool. With a little imagination the sky is the limit ! ;)
