We continue to use LimeSurvery for customer projects as they come up. It allows us to set up multiple projects for different customers from the single installation.
Lime Survey provides a variety of options and features for customer, employee or product surveys. Surveys can be open or closed and there are plenty of question types to choose from.
The biggest downside is that you need to be able to install and set the program up on your own server if you want to get the most value from the package.

Free to start, a lot of control, can set it up in our environment (as opposed to SaaS), programming is fairly easy.
Still somewhat buggy and not as full-featured as it needs to be to be useful for long-term or complex projects.

LimeSurvey we use in Marketing Surveys, Call Centers, and BPO Forms.
Is Open Source and have advanced utilities for multiple scenarios. And the information is mine.
A lot of Updates in a month. This gives the impression that the software is not "stable".
I used to work as an IT guy at a call center, and we noticed that a lot of clients were interested in our surveys but were reluctant to talk to our operators. We offered the option to have the survery sent to them by email and noticed that the answers were even more elaborate than over the phone, with some people even sending screenshots and documents as feedback, where applicable.
Grátis
We had some minor issues with WYSIWYG HTML editor, but these were resolved.

I did not have a good experience with this software, it may be a problem with the current version or in the coding of it. however, it is a good proposal to implement surveys via the web in your company locally.
Free and Open source is the most emphasized of this application, colorful and functional. In the business environment have a feedback with your employees, suggestions, concerns is of utmost importance to improve the work environment !.
I had many problems when implementing this software in my work !. It was a clean and simple installation in UNIX environment, without problems in databases or libraries. But when creating surveys the creation of groups and users is a bit complicated! Once the accounts were created and published, many problems occurred when both the send and the commit occurred. The application was blank for several minutes before throwing some kind of error !.

One of the best things is that it is free, and you can use it online( don't have to download the application if you dont want to). It is easy to use and there is a flexibility in terms of questions and formats. For people answering the surveys they can save the survey and complete it later as well
There are a few things that pop up, which can be annoying. If it is your first time or you don't use it that often you may not notice these things. Also editing your surveys once they are active is extremely difficult.

Overall the product is intuitive and easy to use for newcomers. I have never had problem with creating simple surveys with multiple question types, answer options or setting up conditions for how survey should behave depending on inputs.
Its open source, functions are intuitive to use.
The answer cap in the free version could be higher.

Its a wonderful tool to collect data with so many languages. Awesome
Functions of stats is most promising and especially the downloading of file in xls format is awesome.
Too much functions , sometimes I get confused. Especially conditional functions

Great way to track info through surveys and online forms. Lots and lots of bells and whistles for the more intricate of surveys and online forms.
It's almost too bulky. Simple, multi-question surveys can be difficult to figure out at times.

It was quick to learn, and met our needs.
I enjoyed how quickly and easily you can be an administrator for the software and for the surveys. I really enjoy the intuitiveness of it, and when parts of it are not as intuitive, the online manual is incredibly well detailed and well explained. Some key things that I really love about the software:
On the other hand, I did not like that it is limited in the ways to edit once the survey is live. It deletes all previous data (but does give you the option to export and save them before) which would make embedding the data a tad harder.

My team uses LimeSurvey for collecting data on a national and international levels, and it has suited most of our needs so far. My overall experience has been largely positive and the support team has been fairly responsive, providing me with advice on a number of occasions. However, you have to have a professional license for that.
Depending on the scale and complexity of your surveys, LimeSurvey can be either fairly straightforward and easy to learn or would require more time to get an in-depth understanding of all its features, which require advanced programming skills related to web development (CSS, JavaScript, JSON).
Even though the platform is well maintained, there are still minor bugs/issues that come up once in a while, when you start using it on a regular basis. And because it's an open-source product, it is not as extensively supported as a fully commercial product would be in this regard. Thus, it often takes some time for bugs to be fixed. Also, it has its limitations when it comes to some complex question types, as it has its own set of default questions and other platforms might have a larger variety of questions to use, which might save time when creating a survey.

Fairly easy to set up surveys and has lot of different features available. Easy to get results and pull reports.
After a survey is live, you can't make any changes without turning it offline.

I've used LimeSurvey for about 8 years and haven't been disappointed. The product is stable and powerful, and did I mention it's free (if you host your own).
Can create as simple of complex a survey as I need. I like the reusable pieces, the range of question types and options for controlling them. The user interface is clear, and much improved over th eyears.
Analysis and reporting could do with some improvement, but I'll admit I'm not using the latest version yet. It's not simpel to use, but them nothing that allows for complexity is.

I was a very fan of "SurveyMonkey", thus I was looking for something similar, that could give to my organization the same experience BUT with self-host and free possibility. And Limesurvey delivered It to us. Since then, we automatized a lot of processes in our organization. The results were astonishing. We are saving a lot of time.
It's free, open-source and I can host in my own server (for free). It's even easier to build forms and questionaries than with survey monkey and google forms. The admin interface is easy to use and also the user interface. Very quick to build new forms, to see the answers, etc. Admins can use LDAP to login.
Impossible to say anything bad about this software.

Rep. from the support section has been an awesome help. Whenever there is the smallest of problems he was there to guide. That kind of experience make working in challenging environments better.
It's very practical especially when trying to work in a developing country context.
Still exploring the functionality of Lime Survey. I think it could be a little easier to design new templates.

Deploying the software is easy with a few steps. It offers a clean interface a a lot of features.
Deploying simple surveys are taking a longer time to configure. Without external support it tooks long to get a well designed and clean survey

we use lime survey when we have small studies with the ease of use project managers work independently with it
its easy to install in our server unlike the voxco command center that we use for the same purpose
it does not work with the same efficiency as voxco for complexe studies with multiple filtres and quotas .

They are a nice young German company offering a great product that keeps getting better and better!
It has a logical, almost revolutionary, approach to survey branching and skip-logic. They hide question, based on equations, rather than using other means! Its quite bulletproof way of doing things, less likely for filters to fail.
It may be a bit hard to understand how it all works at first!

We use LimeSurvey both for in company surveys as well as for public surveys. We write our own reporting scripts (in PHP and/or R) for individual and aggregated reports.
Firstly we began using LimeSurvey because it has a free version. Later we found out that it has an amazing development team, both paid people in Hamburg, as well as some fantastic volunteers that spend a lot of time helping others.
Earlier version were sometimes hard to learn, this has become a lot better, but the administrative user interface does still need some love & attention.

I like that is free and easy to use. It has a format that is similar to common online review sites that people are familiar with. It gives a robust set of polls and fillin options.
The administrative panel and review results could be better designed and easier to read. A clearer one-page summary of the results would be helpful.

Faster survey time to live and more question types.
Open source and the community. I love that templates and themes are fairly easy to get off the ground. 2.5 was a huge jump in terms of features and usability.
I wish the serve update wasn't paid, but I get it that you need to make money. I wish there was google authentication (LinkedIn, Twitter, etc) built in as well for admins. Mobile first design is key for the whole platform.

I was new to survey software so LimeSurvey was a good adventure and experience. I downloaded and printed the manual and worked my way through it. Great flexibility of options for questions and formats, easy to launch and manage and easy to generate useful reports or data in spreadsheet format. Many of my graduate students subsequently used LimeSurvey for their research and it was easy to direct them and have them manage their own surveys.
Some question formats were counter-intuitive and took time to conquer. Using tokens for surveys was challenging to learn. All was solved eventually.

I am working with Limesurvey since 2007. Its user interface has improved a lot recently and the software supports lots of features not even paid software can offer. The "Expression Manager" is a very powerful tool to create a scoring system and calculate scores as survey runtime based on the users feedback. This can be used for assessments or psychological tests which includes dynamically showing certain text blocks at the end of the survey.
características
For new users the interface may require 1-2 hours to get familiar with.

I've used this survey professionally, in small pilot study, and going to use it again for a larger nationwide survey. It is an excellent platform, and beats SurveyMonkey and all other platforms in terms of features and ease of use.
The token feature is amazing and very good. I used it for an respondent driven sampling survey and it worked very well. The limeservice allows you to create surveys without ever having to read the manual.
No cons. Everything good.
