It's really easy to create a cute invitation and send it to a lot of people quickly and efficiently. I like being able to see who else is invited to an event and how they RSVP'd. I like getting reminder emails about the upcoming event, and I find that while it's a more informal way to invite a group compared to a printed or written invitation, it works well.
Given that I've only used the free trial version, or responded to invitations from others, there is nothing I would complain about.
I don't think there's too much I particularly dislike about Evite except for the fact that some of the more sophisticated invitations require a Premium subscription (but that really is just part of doing business, so I can't criticize them for it).
Great features like text invites and polls. It's incredibly easy to use - you can put together a great invite in 10 minutes with their easy to navigate features. Tracking and notifications to guests make evite a one stop shop for tracking events.
The card designs could be much better. The free cards are all a little goofy and it's tough to find one that's sophisticated. The premium cards are a little better but nothing is stand out spectacular about them. You can find much more beautiful designs for a cheaper price elsewhere.
Follow along with this quick and easy set up to invite whoever to whatever! Very simple and easy for any skill level to use.
No cons! I found this software very accessible and even easy enough that my grandma could do it!!!!!
I love that the software is always easy to use. I appreciate being able to use the app to track addresses etc for events instead of keeping track of paper invitations
I dislike the number of ads for the host and guests using the software. I understand it's a necessary evil for a free app, but that doesn't mean I have to like them
Makes it easy to organize an event and keep track of the responses from guests or to see others comments
Not sure if there is or note yet, but an evite app would be nice to keep track of things in a calendar type format to keep track of your invites
It is a money saver - I can send and receive invitations - unlike my days of heading to the store to buy invitation cards. It’s instant - no postage hassles and zero waiting. It’s forgiving of errors - unlike paper invites, I can simply log in and make changes - changes which every invitee will get instantly.
I personally have none. Inputting everyone’s e-mail address could possibly be the only con for some. Society is getting lazier and lazier. If Evite can figure a way to input email addresses for users, they would be super genius.
I like the idea of sending invitation creatively. I host some of my stitching workshops monthly basic and I just send all the invitation using email.
I faced no problem at all. I am very happy about using this.
I love that you can track who all are invited to an event that you created. You can manage who is able to attend, who can’t attend, and who hasn’t decided yet. You can send messages to the group who is attending if there are any updates or changes in plans.
I don’t like that everyone who is invited has the ability to see the entire guest list and see if they are attending or not.
You can now invite people to events via text message instead of email through Evite. I like the pretty invitations that Evite makes and how the website is so easy to use. I like how you can view the guest list (if the host makes this viewable to other guests) and most importantly, you can easily RSVP to events via Evite. You can add photos after the event onto the same link as the invitation, to share them with other people who attended the event. Under the activity log you can see other people's responses. And if it is a party that you're invited to, you can even send a gift instantly by clicking the "send a gift instantly" link that is attached to the event reminder email. The evite invitation themselves are pretty great; just like regular invitations they have the name, contact info, location, time and date of the event.
I don't like that I receive emails from them even when I'm not being invited to an event. However, they do partner with other companies and offer "partner offers" in some of their emails that fill up my mailbox.
It's ubiquitous. Everyone uses Evite and is familiar with it, so it's not hard to send or receive one--simply respond and you're done. If you're sending out invitations, it's simple to see who's responded or not.
I have no complaints with it. Setting up an event is simple, choosing a layout is pretty fun, and then watching the responses is also easy.
I truly love the ease of usage when it comes to this software. I use this software when our company hosts events such as our annual Christmas party, picnics, banquets and major sales events. This software saves me so much time as it sends out the invitations, sends back RSVPs, and the whole works. Suffice to say, it saves me a lot of time all while making the process expedient.
I have not experienced any negativity with association with this product and its usage. As mentioned in the pros the product has met all of my expectations and then some!
It easy to use and understand. Sends reminders of the event, reminds guests to upload pictures, allows change of rsvp along with comments
I would like it to have lesser advertisement content on the side
No more paper invitations. Simply need an email address and you’re all set! No more addressing envelopes and mailing only to wait for RSVPs.
Honestly, everything was easy to set up and use. I had no problems using this program!
I love that you can easily customize your e-invitation. From design themes to RSVP options, you can personalize this to fit your needs. You can also put instructions in the evite and allow others to see the guest list... or not. This is simple to use and creates clean, personal invites.
The only complaint I have is that when sending out a youth invite, the ad that displayed on the page was for alcohol. This comes with the territory because it was the free version. If it was a huge problem, I would pay the money to go ad-free. Other than the choice of advertising, no complains.
It is very easy to use, from an organizer's perspective and from a recipient's perspective
I really don't really dislike anything, beyond maybe the gift-giving reminders.
It's so easy to invite friends and families to my parties. We have been using this software to invite friends and families for my wedding, baby shower, and daughter's birthday parties every year.
None. I like this software.
There aren't any cons that I can find except for the email communication. You have to view everything in your browser and not in your email.
The free version of Evite is the only one I've used, and for our basic needs it has worked great. There are many templates you can choose for the style of invitation, and you can customize the details as much as you want. The RSVP system is easy to use as long as you have the complete list of emails. The users are able to click one button and add comments if needed. For a normal event this product works well.
The free version does limit you on quite a bit, including the number of people in your guest list. Unless you plan to have very large events, the free version generally works fine.
It’s so easy to use, you can create invitations, good list for people to bring and keep in communication with your guest
The site doesn’t let you know if an email is wrong or if come one didn’t get the email so if you don’t have your emails correct the person might never get an invite
I love that Evite sends invitations specifically to email addresses. Even if I wanted to send an invitation by snail mail, I couldn't. I don't have very many physical addresses anymore, but I do have also everyone's email. I can even upload my email address into Evite so that I don't even have to type them in!
While I do save time overall with Evite, I often loose time looking at all the different options. While they do have the different event types nicely categorized, I find that all the various options (adding pictures, etc.) can be overwhelming. It can feel like too many options. I often go back and forth on designs.
If you invite people to events via email, eVite makes it easy to track responses and manage your guest list. Invitations are customizable and you can choose from lots of great templates.
More people seem to connect via social media, rather than email these days so I don't know if evite quite allows me to reach my contacts as effectively as it used to.
The part I like most about Evite is that it allows you to invite people to a planned event en masse. It also double to see the best availability.
The only con is that not everyone relies on a mobile device or even uses one so for some people we have to coordinate scheduling outside of the application.
Evite is really easy to use for any age. I always worry about sending to grandparents and older family members but evite is simple to understand and obvious on what to do when you receive an invite. I love that people can upload pictures of your event for all to see.
No complaints about this product at all. Every time I wish something was different they do an update. You can now also get alerts in different ways such as text.
I've found that when I choose to hide my guest list, I'm not notified when people leave comments with their RSVPs. That would be a helpful improvement to make.
I like that this is free. We use paid software that charges us per registration. With Evite, we can send out internal invites without being charged. I like that I can customize the invite for the office holiday party or for a baby shower. Because the guest list can accommodate up to 2500 people, no one is ever left out.
The part that I dislike might not actually be a problem with Evite at all. Often, invites do not actually make it to the inbox of the receiver. This could be because of a filter we have on our email software.
I like that I can invite people to an event electronically and keep track of the responses in one easy spot.
Often a handful of invitees don't view the invitation because they don't know what it is or that it is from me. They think it is spam.
Evite is a user-friendly software. It is cost-effective, and it has plenty of functions that fit my needs. With Evite, I am able to choose a template, create an event, add a gift list, include an additional message for guests, and send updates. I am also able to include RSVP and guest counts to my analysis. After events, Evite alerts all of attendees to send photos from the events, so they are all in one place.
—Although Evite has multiple templates, sometimes, it is hard to find one that fits my needs. They need more template varieties or a way to customize the current templates.
Very simple and straight way to get out invitations or to get invited to a function. Easy to use and great reminders sent regularly until event
I don't really like the way they keep asking or trying to sell their product every time you open or send an invitation
Aside from my wedding invitations, Evite is the only way I send out party invitations these days. What I like most about this software is the beautifully designed (FREE) invitations that I can choose from. There's so many to choose from for all kinds and every event you can think of (for example, Friendsgiving, Girls Night Out, etc.) I also like that you can see who has viewed your invitation and who hasn't.
It used to be that you couldn't make your own invitation designs, but now they've added that. Except to truly have all the design liberty, you have to purchase either a one event premium fee or an annual premium pass. Which isn't really that bad when you think about the money you could be spending on paper invitations, postage, and time saved on collecting RSVPs.
That there are so many selections for every possible event, holiday, everything you can possibly imagine.
Well since I haven't yet had to pay for the use of Evite and have used it several times already for invitations. I cannot think of anything I don't like.
I like how easy it is to set up an account and invite people to an event. It can be so time consuming to send out invitations for an event, not to mention expensive. This software makes creating an invitation and getting it to everyone on the guest list so simple!
I don't like the number of emails I get with guest responses. I wish there was a way to turn this feature off or limit the types of responses I get email notifications for.
Simple web interface. Lots of free options for layout and design/graphics. Premium options if you need to get more fancy. Invitations can go out via e-mail as well as text messaging. Tracks who accepted invitations and how many they will be bringing. A great way to send out and track invitations for any event from birthdays to company parties.
Limited selection of free layouts. You should be able to find something appropriate for whatever you are planning, but if you want a greater selection there will be a small charge.
I wish some of the text placement would be able to be moved around as I desire, or if I wanted to add/take away a picture, I wish I could do that regardless of the template design I had selected.
Maybe more free options (colors) or layouts.
Like with anything new, there is a learning curve for navigating the Evite app. However, it does not take long to learn how to manage and edit invitations through the app.
If you're a professional or a business, or just an individual planning an event that you want to send out to your guests via email to promote as well as receive RSVPs and keep track of the headcount, this is a good platform to use as an alternative to Facebook or the old fashioned methods of printing out paper invitations or having to purchase them already made from a store.
Some people may be annoyed by the emails this sends out to them if they haven't responded yet, though this is a good way of keeping potential guests accountable and reminding them.
It is a little difficult to figure out how to copy an old event to make a new one. Sometimes I spend time searching through menus trying to find the feature I want. Not always intuitive.
This is so much easier ( and more cost effective) than paper invites. Plus you have the digital functionality of having RSVP's comments, guests counts, etc. This really is a time saver when trying to organize an event, as well as saving money in not over ordering, since you know quickly who exactly is planning on attending and how many guest they are bringing.
There really aren't any issue that I can find with this software. It's relatively straightforward and it does a great job at what it needs to. There's always areas for more templates/designs, but that is just a way to optimize the current.
I loved that I could create cute invitations without having the tedious task of physically writing out each individual’s mailing address l, placing a stamp on it and sending it through the Postal Service and hoping it would arrive at all, let alone in a timely manner.
The free version can be a little cluttered and difficult to navigate with the ads. There are not many style options with the free version either.
It's free, but ads! Can't escape the ads. Also, as its a bit older at least technology-wise, may seem a bit clunky and old-fashioned to some.
I like that it's all electronic and keeps track of your RSVPs without using the old paper/pen method.
It could be more customizable. There are only so many templates you are able to use, and everyone's taste is different.
I like that it is a free social-planning website for creating, sending, and managing online invitations and see others' comments.
Nothing so far, other than the software is a bit slow at times. I do enjoy using it is centralized place for creating, sending, and managing online invitations and see others' comments.
Want to throw a last minute party? No time to wait for snail mail? Use Evite! This is a very easy to use product that lets you have fun and be creative designing online invitations, with easy tracking and response buttons for the recipient.
I have no negative input for this product. I have used other similar programs but none as easy as Evite.
I like the "What to Bring" function (I primarily use this software for a monthly potluck movie night with friends).
You cannot export contact info or transfer use of the site to another "administrator." This makes perfect sense of course, but Evite does not work like a Facebook group.
This is a great, quick way to communicate information about an event in an appealing way and to collect RSVPs and even sign ups. It really makes communication much easier because it's a one-stop-shop. I also love that you can send reminders as the event date nears and others can view the RSVP list as well.
I didn't really find anything lacking, especially for the price. It exceeded what I needed with what was provided.
I like how easy it is to use Evite to create visually appealing invitations for all types of events.
I think the email reminder feature is annoying especially if you create a rough draft that you did not want to actually send. It's wedding invitation features are lacking.
I appreciate the ease of setting up an event through Evite. It's easy to connect with guests and receive quick responses from our guests. Evite has plenty of free options for invitations but also has great paid invites for those who want something a little more tailored to their party.
I would like a way to store guest lists so that each time you invite people you could pull up a set list of commonly invited and select those first.
I have received many invitations using this software, and like that it is straightforward to use. I can easily see who sent it to me and what the event details are.
Can't really think of any negative features--it is easy to create invitations and send them, and also easy to see event details for invitations.
Evite makes it easy to create events and to manage the guestlist, sending out automatic reminders before the event. You can utilize the many design templates to attain the look you want and you can interact with guests through polls.
Some of the polls are not customizable for them to fill in their own values. Sharing photos through Evite and the notifications for it is a great feature but is not integratabtle with other photo sharing or storage services.
The ability to invite people to an event from a mobile device.
If you’re asking people to bring a dish, you can’t see their option on the mobile app, you have to sign into the desktop version.
It keeps all of my attendee/invites super organized so I know who's received the invitation and who's actually coming! It also integrates Google contacts, which is very helpful.
I do receive spam occasionally, and I do wish there were more cost-effective options for sending out bulk invitations.
Evite is the standard in the industry for event invitation. It doesn't have a ton of bells and whistles, but it gets the job done and has a lot of standard templates.
Since it's an out-of-the-box software, there are templates to use that limit the user's flexibility to create their perfect invitation.
I have nothing critical to report about Evite.
I've used this multiple times in my career to communicate and reach out to co-workers and found that using it was a GREAT way to have everyone on the same page of a meet up/meeting/ect. Easy to set up and I hear it is pretty common a program to use these days. One of the best, possibly.
It would be rare, but it is more a user thing. Some people would claim they didn't see the Evite. So, that would be a User issue and simply an application in their Inbox to keep it from going to Spam. So, I suppose if Evite could somehow give an notification so that more people receive it? I don't see this being their responsibility, but it's the closest thing of ''area of improvement'' I can really think of.
What I love most about Evite is that it is a fast and efficient way to contact all your guests at once and have a centralized place to view RSVP's. I have gotten invited to many events via Evite, which is convenient for both the hosts and the guests. All of the details for the event are one click away within a link guests receive directly in their email. You even have the option to directly "RSVP Now" or to simply view the invitation once you open the email. Evite even allows hosts to customize their invitations with images they can upload, which makes this online invitation still personal rather than having one boring template for everyone. Evite even has options for the hosts to take a poll or ask a question, for example to see which meal guests would prefer, or to see if anyone has any dietary restrictions, etc. Overall, Evite is extremely user friendly and makes throwing a party or attending a party very easy in terms of making sure everyone is on the same page.
What I like least about this software, is that hosts will have to gather and input an extensive list of emails for all of their guests, but that is just part of the "work" hosts have to do in order to host an event and this is still one of the easier ways to invite people (as opposed to mailing each addressed envelope for example). One other "con" about this software is that I get email notifications from every single guest's comment. Sometimes I do not need to know what comments guests leave such as if they are commenting on what meal they want, or why they cannot attend the event. Also, sometimes the layout feels a bit unorganized and requires maneuvering around several pages at times in order to find what details you are looking for.
This software has been our favorite way to send out invites to our events and parties at our dance studio! The invites look really professional and Evite is a trusted name for our clients.
We’re not able to make as much customization to the templates as we’d like, but it’s usually not necessary since their templates tend to look really nice.
This software is fun and easy to use. It makes invitations a joy. Cute templates. Straightforward interface.
It's kind of a pain to enter email addresses manually at the beginning. However, it saves the addresses on your account so you never have to enter them again.
Not everyone chooses to read their email, so this is the only con I can think of. Follow-up May be needed for those who haven’t responded. But Evite shows who has or hasn’t opened their emails.
Not a negative to Evite, but most people use Facebook invites because they are already on the platform. It would be nice to see Evite grow to bring the end-all of all event and invite services.
I have NO cons with the software at all. I have used it with great success and have recommended others to use the program as well!
There really isn't anything that I dislike about this software. It is really useful and simple.
I wish that there were more options available, especially for boys. Also, I wish they had more licensed designs.
I think the interface of the website could be updated to be more aesthetically pleasing as well as easier to interact with. It could have a cleaner, simpler look.
There have been a couple of situations in which I found it hard to change an RSVP that was already made some time ago. I feel like sometimes it is easier than others, and overall it could be easier to find your decisions or edit them.
I think this software could be marketed a little better because not as many people use it as I would think.
Some of the templates have limited space to write in the title and other info, so you're limited to which templates work with your information.
I got to know this site by chance when I am searching for a template for inviting people to my party. It is really simple to make my own custom invitation. I like most of the software workflow it is really very authentic.
The invitation is not displayed in an email, why? What's the point? You have to follow the link to view it.
Thanks to Evites, I have stopped wasting money on mailing invitations. I love that to invite people to social gatherings all I need is their email.
I sometimes find their options overwhelming and often use the same few templates to save time.
This software is free and easy to use for event planning. I was introduced to Evite while working for another company. At that time, the company used Evite to plan their annual Christmas party. It was easy for all employees to go online and RSVP. You also could see who else was attending the event and leave a comment.
Evite is easy to use but you have to be online in order to use it. That means everyone you invite to your event has to RSVP online. I think there's a possibility that some people may not have access or be unfamiliar with how to use the software.
This is very easy to use software. They have a large selection of free invitations that you can customize for your event or party. The free invitations are well done and stylish. If you want to get a larger selection, some invitations come with at a cost. It's easy to put all the information that the recipient needs in order to attend the event. Plus the recipient can RSVP to the Evite. I also like that you can customize the RSVP responses. For example, at Halloween a "YES" response can be changed to say "Dying To Come" , "MAYBE" to "If The Moon Is Full" and "NO" to "Too scared".
I've been using Evite for years and I've never purchased and invitation to send. The price is not given to you until you're ready to complete the invitation. The price should be up front so you know before you do all the work.
Unpredictable whether email services send Evites into "junk" folders or inboxes. I like that Evite has added a link to the invite feature but it is still sometimes questionable if everyone gets the invitation properly. Not sure how much this is Evite's logarithm or email services. The app can be cumbersome to find everything like sign ups and such.
The hardest part is entering everyone's email addresses. That takes the most time. But after getting it set up and creating several evites, it is a lot easier.
Not really a con - it's just that there are so many products out there that when we use it, someone inevitably suggests some other. We've had out best luck with evite, will continue to use it.
