With the release of LogMeIn Central and LogMeIn Pro, LogMeIn's next generation solutions for remote access and systems management, LogMeIn IT Reach is no longer available to new customers. We will continue to support existing IT Reach customers and assist them with their transition over time to the new products.
The software can be a little confusing to set up. However, once it is up and running I have very little worries with it.
It is relatively easy to login and there is not a ton of lag, which is great. I do not notice it pulling a ton of CPU, either. I like that I am able to login to another computer at another location and pull whatever I need without having to travel from building to building.
Unfortunately I have to download the LogMeIn client everytime I want to use it, so I limit my logins and build up a few requests before I login and complete multiple ones at a time just because of the effort it takes to login. The view of the remote computer is also a bit odd. You cannot make it large enough to look normal without obscuring some of the screen, and the font is a tad fuzzy.
no qualms, does what it's supposed to quick and effectively
I had a difficult time setting up the remote server at first. I had to seek the help of my on call IT person to assist me in getting this set up on my computer in my office but once I did It was smooth sailing from there.
When LogMeIn isn't running smoothly -- particularly when WiFi is shaky -- it can be a pain to calibrate and get working again.
Logmein can be easy to manage via their web interface and desktop application. Is a low cost solution to a large remote control environment. Allows you to control and track user access, can be used from a mobile device which can be extremely useful in certain situations.
To remote access the computer you have to have the local or domain administrator credentials. If i wanted to give a non admin user access to their desktop PC from their laptop it is not possible to accomplish via logmein. Desktop client has extremely limited functionality - most of the management has to be done from the web interface that has poor support for popular browsers like Chrome.
Connection can be slow at times, and doesn't play well with ultra wide monitors.
LogMeIn Pro works on any system. The software is reliable, we haven't had any real issues that weren't handled immediately which eliminates frustration. I have been able to access my desktop worldwide without any issue in the past seven years.
The cost is definitely a drawback. Mac to PC can sometimes be a bit frustrating too.
Once in a while for some reason, on mac the remote access would be disabled automatically. I have to keep turning it on which is kind of annoying.
It is very east to use and access multiple PC's with one application. The best thing about Logme in is we can access PC's from Web browser instead of downloading additional softwares or tools. The other feature I use using this software is to download large files from one PC to another.
Remote PC access is depending on the internet speed. If internet connection is slow, gets disconnected too often. UI needs an update as it looks same from past 10 years.
Ease of use. You can stay logged on. Normally no problems. Very rarely disconnects.
I had to buy a bigger laptop because seeing the screen became problematic.
This software is just so easy to use. I can be sitting at my home computer and sign in at logmeinpro and I am in my computer at the office in no time. It is as if I am actually sitting there. It is fast and easy to manipulate.
I am not sure if it is something I do wrong, but when I sign in to logmein and it sends me to my computer at the office, it scrambles all of my icons I had in order on my desk. This creates me to having to look for the icons that I actually need to get into.
Nothing that I do not like about this software. It is awesome.
It's more expensive than it used to be. Had to move away from the cost trippled.
The speed and features of the software in most cases.
The pricing model and recent cost increases.
I really like using LogMeIn Pro to access my work computers from home when my stores are having problems they can't explain over the phone.
The only cons I would say about this product is that sometimes it would take a little longer to connect that I would like.
On the past this was an inexpensive "go to" product. As remote connect/control has become more main stream, I feel that LogMeIn Pro has priced themselves out of the market for many users
The Price is the main factor, but occasional connection issues comes in a close second.
LogMeIn Pro gives you the option of logging into your computer remotely from a different computer. So useful when you're in a pinch to operate a different computer.
It got very expensive. It's fine if you can get your company to cover the high annual fee but I wasn't using it very often so it wasn't cost effective.
The feature set and functionality is really good. It's good at what it does.
Price. It's just insanely expensive for what you get. There are a handful of alternatives at a much smaller price point.
FÁCIL DE USAR
The price got too high for me when they went professional.
Personally prefer it only on server environment. Limited to 1 user being connected at a time. Can be difficult when adding profiles from other administrators.
LogMeIn Pro is probably the best remote access tool I have ever used. It's easy to use and offers a ton of features. You can train someone how to use it in a few minutes and then they're good to go.
LogMeIn Pro is pricey...that's the biggest con. They have a history of raising their prices repeatedly and out of nowhere making it hard to justify to management when there are many tools (tools which are catching up in features as well) which are much less expensive.
I have used LogMeIn for personal use since Free version still exist. I have switched to Teamviewer for personal use when it no longer free but still have use the Pro version for business use
unlike Teamviewer, it does not offer any free version at all for personal use
There is really no key function to notify the computer that is being remotely access to let them know that someone else is currently on the computer. This gets a little frustrating when lengthy IT sessions come into play where the user may not be as technically savvy or understand that something is still in process even if they don't see the mouse moving.
It seemed expensive for what we used it for. We went pro primarily to be able to print on a local printer rather than the printer associated with the desktop. Ultimately it was too expensive for us. The main downfall was you have to call to cancel and that phone call was a disaster. It was rather unprofessional (not in terms of being rude, but in terms of professionalism). When I called there was a good 5-10 seconds before anyone answered. A 2-minute hold lasted 15 minutes and then no one ever came back on the line. It was my only customer service experience with them and it was not good.
Instead of spending hours on the phone trying to explain to IT what I'm looking at, I get to just sit back and watch them go! So great being able to let them into my computer when I need help.
Not that this is necessarily a logmein fault, but i always have to remember to not let my computer go to sleep while someone is working on it. If I do, then they can't remote in anymore.
I would give LogMeIn a 5 out of 10 when it comes to being a user-friendly software program. I did not find this one to be intuitive or easy to navigate - especially in the beginning stages where I was getting the hang of the app. Another downside for me is the lag time delays and very slow download speed whenever I access a Microsoft office suite file.
This is a great and stable user friendly application. Great for small businesses because of the reliable iPad app, which lets you log in with ease anywhere you go linking you back to your computer and files on the go. This programme for remote desktop has long been a favourite of my clients purely for the ease of use. Remote device printing is a great feature this does natively very well.
Latest versions are not always mac compatible for the native application, but you can always use a stripped down HTML browser based remote desktop. Secondly passing keyboard shortcuts through remote desktop can always be temperamental, many times it has worked, but on occasion CTRL + A, for instance hasn't worked.
With the different product options, it was confusing for the user at times. I understand charging the customers based on different needs. Price per user can be pricey for large organizations.
This software is very expensive if you need to deploy it on more than a few machines. We're talking hundreds of dollars a year. There are so many free alternatives, that if you care about money, this might not be the best solution for you.
LogMeIn Pro gives me the ability to log into my work computer remotely from where ever I am and even allows me to access computers in other parts of the building without having to move offices.
Not really the software's fault but obviously the function is dependent of the speed and stability of the internet connection you have.
The remote agents can become corrupt and stop functioning.
This product allows me to work from home and check my work PC whenever I need to. The program is easy to use and fairly intuitive.
The only downside is that I need to always leave my PC on as this is run from my PC and not run through the server.
Everything. There are no flaws with this software. It is extremely easy to use and is so convenient. The features are great, from allowing me to access my computer from afar or access other people's computers to assist them.
I have no complaints with this software.
The in browser connection window can be slow and buggy at times but at the end of the day is a great alternative to downloading the exe.
I liked the Remote Access feature, the ability to remotely manage without connecting to the screen.
After they hiked up their prices, we switched to a cheaper alternative.
LogMeIn allows for me to access any computer at any time. This is a very beneficial program, especially if you are traveling often.
sometimes the program can be a bit laggy at any given time. Not sure if it has to do with internet connection or the program itself
- It is not compatible for all versions of operating systems, it has forced us to make changes to the equipment.
Access to office programs and databases while offsite. Ability to tap into resources wherever needed, without having to physically be in the office.
The login process can be somewhat tedious. Although it's set up for security, I'm sure, the multiple step login process can take more time than desired.
I used this software for many years when I ran a software company. It was our go to for accessing our users nationwide and they were happy to have it running on their computers so we could log in as required to assist them.
Sometimes it was a bit slow to connect but this may have been due to the quality of the end users PC and broadband line. No other things I disliked.
Logmein pro is one of the most amazing products I have ever tested and used.
Was great with fast connection, seamless operation, rich features including file sharing, drag and drop etc...
Price: increased quite a lot, used it for several years but because of cost, we had to switch to another competitor.
It is very easy to login and use at any time of the day. I have not had any issues with LogMeIn.
Depending on what I am working on, the view on the screen is smaller than my regular computer screen. Then I have to adjust my viewing size.
The ability to reach out and connect to customer machines from anywhere if a problem arises. We no longer have to send someone out for every little thing.
The pricing can get a bit expensive. It probably isn't bad for a large company maintaining a fleet of internal machines, but can be a tad expensive for a smaller company who wants the ability to occasionally connect to customer machines only if a problem arises.
LogMeIn has always been a fairly reliable way to solve IT issues for customers or any remote control needs. It's got a lot of capabilities and functions, if you're willing to pay for it.
There are a lot of different options for IT remote support out there, and from what I've experienced, LogMeIn has been on the more expensive side - especially considering the features on the service.
This program is very easy to use for my IT company to remote login and fix whatever issues my computer has.
I have not had any issues with the software to date. I don't have any negative comments to say about it.
The ability to access a computer remotely.
The price and the way they do business. Deceptive.
It helps us log in remotely to some of our clients computers and work on their accounting software without having the client send me over the large files.
The only con would be if you are working on a PC and the client has a Mac computer. Other than that, it has served its purpose.
We used LogMeIn for years until they priced themselves right out of the market. It got far too expensive to keep using
pricing could be better and we would still be using it today
We have not had any issues with this software.
I really like that I can log into my work PC day or night. It is easy to use and gives me the freedom to work outside of my office. I have access to everything on my work PC. I cannot say enough good stuff about this software.
I cannot think of anything. I have been using the software for sometime and never have problems with the software.
allows offsite IT tech to remotely repair issues with my computer quickly
there is nothing to complain about with this software
LogMeIn worked slightly better than free services like Chrome Remote Desktop, but not better enough for me to switch permanently. My remote desktop could be displayed on a secondary monitor, but since my monitor was larger than my real computer screen, I could not expand the display to fill the whole monitor.
1. Cost is affordable but could be a tiny bit cheaper.
With LogMeIn, you do not have the ability to have multiple users log into the remote destination. This isn't necessarily a harsh CON, more of a minor inconvenience, because it's not often I'll need someone else to remote into the same destination as me.
LogMeIn Pro is a powerful and corporate application forremote support in a production business environment. The tools and options to make the remote support experience complete, is what i like the most on this app. It has great compatibility across diferente devices and Operative System. That fact, makes it an industry standard for nowadays support services.
I would like to have a more friendly user interface for LogMeIn. I feel that the GUI is a little outdated. Also, we could use more frequent updates to fix bugs and errors.
Overall I like the problem that LogMEIn solves. Super happy that there is a tool like this that exists. We would use it daily and it was good to have access to remote CPU's.
Overall Quality is ok. Connection always seems unstable and seems like there's a lag but could be my own internet speed.
It would be ideal to for users to "have their say" before IT log into their pc. That being said, this feature may already be available.
For what it is, I think it is expensive. And year after the year the price increases alot. (it is an annual subscription). As an MSP, there are cheaper ways to get remote access as a secondary measure. It is more the hassle and time switching away from it.
Only allows for one person to be on at a time, does not allow someone to shadow the session. boots the current person off of the application if someone else tries to log in
Prices went up recently, so not as attractive compared to free options. But a solid option if you want something easy to manage.
It's been a little while since I've used this software but it was integral to a change in software that was implemented at my previous job. I was able to remotely view a co-worker's computer in order to more effectively troubleshoot technical issues for her. Being that she was not tech savvy at all, this was the easiest way to help her. It saved me many hours of driving back and forth to help her. I have also used it extensively with my mother and my mother-in-law, both of whom are less than proficient in technology. This software allows me to teach them remotely, in real time and with appropriate feedback, the skills they need on the computer as well as talk them through software installation and upgrades. I can't begin to describe how much travel time LogMeIn has saved me!
There isn't really a con to the software, per se. The only issue is that there has to be a prerequisite modicum of technical ability for the person I am trying to help before we can even proceed. Guiding someone through the setup process blindly isn't easy but that's not really the fault of the program.
Great Tool for your IT department to be able to fix problems in the network or computers on the fly.
Connections are sometimes unstable, while this could be latency issues or software, I do not know
Access to clients computer from anywhere, including vacation spots if needed.
I can't seem to get the "turn off" if a computer is turned off. I've tried talking with tech support, but that's not working.
Sometimes it runs a bit slow but not all the time! I don't think there are many cons to this product!!
after all it's working with the internet and at times when the service is poor then the whole program is getting a nap and you can't do anything
This software is the greatest. It is easy to use. It is easy to setup. You can easily remote access computers from anywhere.
we can easily log in to our managers computers to fix issues without having to physically be at their location.
We have not encountered any issues so far with this software as log as the manager stays logged in and doesn't stop the program from running on their computer.
O único grande problema que tenho com este produto nem sequer é com o produto, é com o suporte ao cliente que auxilia sempre que surge um problema. Ser escalado para diferentes níveis de suporte até conseguir encontrar a pessoa que pode realmente ajudá-lo.
I love LogMeIn Pro. It allows all of my employees to be able to log into their work computers remotely. We are a small company, and sometimes things happen - a child is sick or you need to access your computer from home. Also, it is great to allow my employees to work remotely if needed. Works well and is easy to use. It enables employees to access business paid programs that they may not have on their home computers by accessing their work computer to get to the program and work. Minimizes downtime and increases productivity.
There are other cheaper and even free programs that allow a user to log in remotely (remote desktop connection) as long as the computer is powered on. Of course, this alternative has its disadvantages as well. No other issues with LogMeIn other than the competition. Do some price shopping to see what works best for your company
Convenience. Ability to help my clients in a very fast, efficient manner. Less travel. Ability to help my clients do their jobs efficiently as well.
Slow to connect sometimes. Prices keep going up with no improvements/changes in the service. No other complaints.
Expensive renewal options. Only allows remote control of two computers and price goes up quickly if more computers or locations required. Cheaper and as effective alternatives exist.
As far as remote access programs go, this is one of the best we have used. It allows access across operating systems, which is very beneficial and not true of some of the popular competing products. Taking this one step further LogMeIn maps numeric keypads from Mac to PC as well, which has been a point of frustration for alternative products. LogMeIn also offers some good security features essential for business application. It is very easy to manage users while allowing each user to create their own account and password. Additionally, for each remote machine the user can customize the idle time allowed, add an additional password for access, and filter IP addresses that can access remotely.
Mac to PC can be frustrating. Copy & paste from remote PC to local Mac can be problematic as the clipboard does not always sync up and/or pastes in different formatting (adding spaces, removing line breaks, etc.). Also the keyboard mapping can intermittently go haywire from Mac to PC, requiring a closing and reopening of the remote session.
